Great location. Right next to Kumamoto castle and a short walk to the shopping area. The hotel has a great rooftop balcony, which has a nice view of Kumamoto castle

Bath tub was a bit small, but lots of hotels in Japan have small bath tubs

Friendly, efficient, comfortable hotel opposite the castle with views. Well equipped and and serviced room. Lobby services included access to welcome drink, shared laundry, microwave, ice. Close to the main shopping area of Kumamoto and pleasant shopping arcades. Also close to the castle and the moat with spectacular cherry blossom walk Kumamoto proved to be an ideal base for exploring Kyushu.

The tram from the railway station was fun, but could get crowded and added 20 minutes each way to train trips out of town.
