The Polchar - Aviemore

With this property it is a case of "What is there not to like" it is by far the best property I have stayed in, i can't fault it at all. from the moment you walk through the front door its fantastic, plenty of space, lovely big comfortable beds, well equipped property. The garden was out of this world, it was funny on the last day my wife showed me areas in the garden i had not found, and I introduced her to a couple of parts she had not found. We really enjoyed our holiday and this property added to the holiday so much. Everyone in our family had nothing but great things to say about The Polchar - Aviemore. The host sent emails to check all was ok, and was a real help each time. This property is worth the money that we paid! Location is great to, you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, but at the same time its close to Aviemore which has everything you need shop wise, plus the A9 road which makes half of Scotland in easy reach, so loads to do.

Great location and amazing garden

Fantastic house, great setting, dream Scottish location. My dog couldn’t believe he was the luckiest pooch on the planet.

Absolutely everything! What a fantastic property, superb character, fantastic adventurous grounds to suit everyone. The property had everything and more, perfect space for families/friends to get together. We loved the outdoor space especially, it was incredible having access to multiple gardens, hotub, outdoor play area, a stream at the bottom of the garden, and multiple dining/seating areas outside, and how could I forget the outdoor kitchen bbq area, with a fire to the seating area and two large hammocks on the lawn. The property offers so much more than the basics, such as a dish washer, washing machine, tumble dryer, and an ensuite to the king bedrooms! Plenty of storage in all bedrooms, and all the cleaning and toiletries you could possibly need. Huge fridge/freezer in the kitchen, too, and a radio which makes a nice touch. I could go on forever. This property is by far the best holiday home/destination I have ever stayed at. Short drive into Aviemore, short drive/walks to incredible lochs/lakes and waterfalls, where you can skim some rocks and go on an adventure.

There was nothing I didn't like, just a couple things I would have liked, or things that need doing as a general. A pathway of step lights to the hot tub as it is pitch black in the evening. If there are lights that we missed, a useful house guide would be fantastic as it is so big. For example, how to use the big and beautiful Aga Oven (which the owner quickly and happily sent over a link), and any helpful tips for using the hot tub/bbq, which was relatively easy. The upstairs king ensuite bedroom to the left, the shower slowly drains and needs turning off mid shower to drain, so this may need unblocking? The TV in the lounge is in a mirror casing, which makes it very blurry and distorted if you're not sat in front looking directly at it, meaning others cannot see the screen from the other seats. The only other thing may be that there are no tvs in the bedrooms, which i didn't mind at all. We were too busy and tired to need it.

A beautiful property, lovely interior and beautiful landscaped gardens.

We loved everything about The Polchar ! Beautiful property full of character, set in a wonderful peaceful location with amazing grounds and views. The house is full of surprises, with quirky artefacts, and great attention has been shown . You feel like the host had invited you to stay with him/her. The beds were large and so comfortable, with spotless linen and soft white bath towels had been rolled and laid on each bed. The kitchen has an Aga which we enjoyed using for breakfasts, but as the weather was glorious, sunny and 25 degrees throughout are stay, we used the fantastic built -in barbecue and ate alfresco at the large round garden table areas which had a safe built -in fire to keep you cosy as the night drew in. The hot tub was a huge success! Thanks must go to Marco for his efficiency and pleasant demeanour. Our special family birthday celebration will be locked into our memories forever. We felt like we had found our perfect place. I’d live there forever !

Lovely surroundings, good size accommodation. Host very responsive when contacted for further information. Home totally relaxed.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Polchar. Aviemore is one of our favourite places and this property was a perfect size and location for us. Marco was the property manager and he was very helpful from initial booking to after we checked out.
