Achintee Cottages No 2

We were advised the key code well in advance and the host popped out of her property next door when we arrived (later than expected) to introduce herself and check all was ok. The property was easy to find The property had a great view of the start of the Ben Nevis range and there were some lovely walks down the river and up Cow Hill from the front door. It was very quiet and even if we had been trapped indoors by the weather it would have been a comfortable and relaxing place to stay. It was a good base for exploring especially if you like canals and spectacular landscapes. We were very grateful that the host had left the instructions for using the cooker/ microwave etc in the cottage. We were being particuarly dense about how to turn the hob on and that was solved by a look at the instructions! We appreciated the supply of dishwasher tablets - this was the one thing we forgot to bring!

We had trouble with the wifi dropping our connection and not allowing log on. The host assured us this was an unusual problem and one the second night we did not have the same problem so maybe it was atmostpheric. The kitchen was well equipped but we could have done with a couple of microwavable/ pyrex bowls

Plenty of room and very near Ben nevis but also supermarkets. Cottage had everything we needed and very clean also.

Bright, clean, well appointed. Great location

Um? No bath? But that’s nit picking as we loved this set up. Had everything you could need. Including a spare dog bed, iron, washing mashing, tumble dryer. Well stocked kitchen. Just fab. Loved the balcony also.

The cottage is newly furnished. The attention to details was amazing, nothing was missing in terms of household utilities.

Light unpleasant odor close to the ground floor toilet. Hopefully will not be there next time we are there.

Absolutely stunning location at the foot of Ben Nevis. The cottage was immaculate, with everything provided for. The bonus of a real fireplace was a welcome addition after a cold, wet walk in the mountains. The location was also very quiet, despite being only a few minutes from Fort William. Would highly recommend to anyone who would like to explore the area around Fort William and North Scotland.
