Bob’s Cabin

the cabin is spacious, cozy and warm. it's also very quiet and clean. the host provides towels and bedsheets. the kitchen doesn't have an oven, but there's an air fryer and other basic appliances.

We refused to stay here, it was so bad. Our recommendation is to go somewhere else. The staff at a local pub, along with a helpful b&b operator helped us to find a lovely b&b in the area.

If you want accommodation with a painted plywood floor (where you can see the nails) and corrugated iron walls for the shower/toilet, this place is for you. The cabin looks like it has been built out of leftovers from building projects and the whole site looks like a junkyard. It's in a rural area but there is no rural or garden view. There was a repository full of cigarette butts about 10m from the front door. The proprietor certainly didn't take kindly to our comments and will probably say we are terrible people. He said he would rather give us our money back than have us write an unfavourable review. Needless-to-say, we haven't got our money back. At one point, he told my wife that he didn't want to talk to her but only to me. You can imagine how that was received.

Good value. Friendly and responsive staff.

The small cabin sounded like it would come apart on the windy night.

Coffee Tea and sugar provided but no milk. Toiletries provided.

I wasn't expecting the Savoy but this one was disappointing. No privacy as the glass doors had curtains that one would see shadows through which made me feel vulnerable. Doors difficult to lock. Followed the instructions for hot water but it was lukewarm at best. Don't think it has seen a mop or vacuum in a long time. Smoke detector detached and missing. Bed had a sag in the middle. Bunny ears tv antenna, half melted remote control. Ripped couch. Surroundings were dumpy. Barely a shack, let alone a cabin. Slapped together with mostly corrugated iron. Don't let the photo's fool you- NOT worth that kind of money.

The only positive about this location is that it was quiet

The place was almost impossible to find but he owner did eventually come find us and he was pleasant however the place was extremely run down, dirty and beyond basic.

Quiet location- quirky simple- I wasn't expecting the Ritz, but I do expect clean and some of it wasn't really. reasonable price for someone like me on a limited budget

A microwave rather than an airfryer- much more useful for cooking. Cleaning cloths of some description to keep the sink etc clean would have helped Toilet cleaner- needed! Instructions re using said airfryer, how to turn on the radiator, where the bins were outside, who to contact in an emergency , what to do when leaving etc needed. The property felt damp - no fan in bathroom might mean you get mould with time. Some of the fixtures looked like they'd been hacked together by a carpenter missing their guide dog.
