Upper Rock Brighton – Guest House

Location. Cleanliness. Comfort

Seagull alarm!

Great location, close enough to have a sea view from our room, just round the corner from plenty of shops and bars/restaurants and 15min walk to Pavillion or pier. Very clean room, spacious (room 2) with bay front. Decent bed, couple of chairs, reasonable bathroom, lots of shelving for storage. Cooler rather than fridge so things not icy chilled but ok. Kettle and tea/coffee on the room. Nice towels, fan in the room, already on for us when we arrived… it was a heatwave! Creaky floors so you do hear upstairs a bit but that’s the age of the property so to be expected. Met and slightly exceeded expectations. Would be 10/10 but for the issues noted below.

Poor communication. Messages about bag storage on the morning of our stay and never had a reply (don’t think there is any). Had a text message with room number and entry code for main door and room but the room was already occupied. Took a while to get through to the owner who then let slip the name of the female occupant of the room too! Not very secure or confidential so this has knocked the score down. Finally got the right code for our room and settled in.

Great location and easy to access. Apartment had all we needed. Easy 5-7 min walk to pier and great breakfast place around the corner along with kemptown eateries.

Nothing about the property at all. Like everywhere in Brighton parking can be a challenge. It only took us about 5 mins to find a space but you may have to park a street away if really busy period!

Good communication from owner. Nice room, with everything we needed for our night's stay.

Die Unterkunft gelegen, schick ausgestattet und die Fenster sind gut gegen Lärm isoliert. Danny hat uns sehr gut bei allen Fragen unterstützt.

Es war etwas sehr warm in dem Zimmer. Leider hat der Ventilator nicht viel geholfen.

I liked how clean the property entrance and my room was, the bed was super comfy and I loved having a view of the sea, the shower was lovely and hot, towels were fresh, there was tea making facilities, toiletries etc , the guy at the hotel was friendly and appreciated the hand written note, I will definitely stay again in a heartbeat

First impressions count,was spot on,lovely location,walk out the door,turn right and the sea is there,lovely and clean,parking permit was a godsend,had everything we needed and room was lovely and fresh,would happily recommend and stay again.
