Casas do Lanço by An Island Apart

The property was beautiful, the pool was amazing. The two dogs that patrolled the grounds were sweethearts. The mountain side was breathtaking with dramatic landscapes, quiet and relaxing

The weather on the north side wasn’t the best but the north side was more beautiful

The price is significantly overpriced for what you get. The cabin is old, damp, and smelly. The room reeked of burnt wood from the fireplace (which was very difficult to light a fire in). In the bathroom, there was a foul smell coming from the drains. The furniture is old. The bed is hard and uncomfortable. On top of that, it was cold. The price is definitely disproportionate to the quality. This cabin shouldn't cost more than 80 euros per night

Location and view was fantastic, overall property and gardens was amazing, design was fab, kitchen had good facilities and equipment for cooking. There is also parking, which is super helpful! Overall loved it, and would definitely stay again

Bed was a bit uncomfortable - minor thing, but for the price, would have expected it to be better quality!

Beautiful location surrounded by towering mountains. The property itself has a well-kept garden. We were welcomed by Linda who was very friendly and showed us around. Our apartment was quite spacious and as the evenings were a bit chilly we could use the fireplace in the living room.

As described by other guests there was an intense bad smell in the bathroom. We had to keep the toilet lid closed and window open at all times which was not ideal for the colder nights. Although the kitchen was spacious, there were no sharp knifes and only older equipment which made proper cooking difficult.

The property is beautiful, feels like staying in a garden. Nice views from the pool and the terrace. It is located in the hills above Sao Vicente, 5 min drive from a supermarket, 30 mins drive to funchal, Kid friendly, we were provided with a child chair and a bed. very helpful host, they did laundry for us as there was no washing machine on property. Also communicated fast and were ready to help with anything.

The Wifi signal is weak, however it may be an advantage as well :)

The place is magnificent, surrounded by beautiful natural and villas are well- designed and equipped. We loved that place is quiet and has a fireplace for a relaxing atmosphere. If you are with a car you can reach the city and ocean in 5 minutes. Property has a large garden and terasse to enjoy nature.

In the first night it was a bit cold but we had radiators available that we could use.
