"We were delighted by this beautiful old home and the great, personal hospitality of hostess Tina!"

10.0

It was such a treat to have a hot, wonderful breakfast of eggs as I asked for them, AND pancakes. And we didn't need to wait at all--our hostess Tina is a whiz in the kitchen!

The neighborhood seemed a little uneven with nice and less nice streets around. But there's great parking on the premises so all was fine and safe there.

"We were very pleased with our stay and would definitely consider staying here again if we're in town"

8.0

We were in town to visit RPI, and the location was great - very close to campus and pretty easy to get to. There was a quick Thai chicken and rice restaurant across the street that made for an easy, tasty meal after a long day in the car. The house is gorgeous - lovely woodwork throughout the first floor with raised-plaster details in the dining room, several pairs of original oversized panel doors on the main floor, nice ceiling details throughout. Our room was clean and comfortable, not cold as one might expect from an older house. The proprietor gave clear instructions about building access and offered advice on some things to do nearby, plus a nice spread for the hot breakfast. There were snacks and freshly-baked brownies awaiting us when we arrived in the evening.

Our only real complaint was the road noise - both from traffic and from some rowdy neighbors having an argument late at night. Not all of the rooms have an en suite bathroom, and ours had a bathroom down a floor (for a lower room rate). This wasn't an issue for us, but understand what you're getting.

The decor was wonderful. It was clean and quiet. I loved having a dedicated parking spot in the back of the building, that was very convenient. Tina emailed me local restaurant recommendations beforehand which was very helpful. I'd definitely stay again if I'm ever in the area!

"Interesting and historic house in center of Troy"

7.0

The host was very pleasant and we had a lovely breakfast. The house itself is interesting and historic. What I hadn’t realized from the description was that the bathrooms are separate from the bedrooms. Our bathroom was downstairs and opened from the kitchen. The lights were left on so we could have seen the way to the bathroom if we had had to go in the night, but it was not convenient at all.

Having the bathroom downstairs, and having to go through the dining room with people eating breakfast in order to get to our bathroom, which opened from the kitchen. It meant that we had to get dressed before we could use the bathroom in the morning.
