"Not for tall people or foodies."

4.0

The room was adequately equipped, tea, coffee, kettle, TV. The beds were comfortable. Off-street parking was OK, and the place seemed reasonably clean.

I had not realised that the room wasn't en-suite, so that was a bit of a let-down. At the price we paid, I would expect en-suite facilities. Sloping ceilings in the bedroom and in the shower room/toilet mean that useable floor area is reduced, and care has to be taken when moving around. Both of us are below average height. Breakfast was a real let-down, absolutely the minimum they could get away with. Two slices each of the cheapest white sliced loaf, bagged and left in the fridge overnight with two small pats of butter and 2 small pots of jam each. A basic cereal selection available as well. I asked about cooked breakfast, and was told 'not available'. The one redeeming feature was a jar of ground coffee and a cafetiere. Breakfast was DIY and seemed to be DIY washing up as well. More like a bunkhouse than a B&B.

"Charming stay for family"

9.0

The place was quaint, cozy, and cute. Beds were comfortable, surprisingly warm, and all had good sleep. They were able to accommodate our last-minute booking late at night. Good communication, and quick responses. James was sweet. Waiting for us in AM, he had toast, jam and butter, tea, and milk for cereals. Even had individual tea set up in each room.

Light was not on out front, which made it a bit harder to find. Could use a run thru with a dust mop in a few spots.

"A fantastic 'home away from home' holiday"

10.0

We stayed at Holbury B&B for a two night family getaway.   It was easy to find the B&B, in a very nice and quiet residential area, with ample off-road parking.  We were warmly greeted by James and check in was hassle-free, being given our room key, front door key so we could come and go as we pleased, and a tour of where things were. Our room was on the 1st floor, which was accessed by one flight of stairs, with open views over the rooftops.  The room was clean and warm and had all the facilities we needed, 3 single beds, TV, tea and coffee making facilities, clothes rail, chest of drawers and towels.  We had shared toilet and shower room facilities but never had to wait and they were always immaculate.  In addition, there was an additional comfortable communal seating area on the landing which meant we weren't confined to our room - a nice touch for socialising. Downstairs was the kitchen facilities which were available for us to use at any time.  The kitchen included plates, breakfast/soup bowls, cups, glasses, cutlery, kettle, cafetiere, microwave, basically everything we needed to be able to prepare an evening meal.  There was also a choice of teas and coffees, with ample milk being supplied by James in the fridge.  A nice feature was that we had a dedicated shelf in the fridge, which meant we could store fresh food and then warm things up in the evening. After a very good night's sleep, each morning for breakfast we were greeted on our fridge shelf with a choice of jams and butter along with two slices of bread per person, individually wrapped.  This was a nice feature as we used these to make sandwiches to take out with us.  In addition, there were a nice selection of cereals made available (cornflakes, wheetabix, muesli, crunchy nut cornflakes and porridge). This was a fabulous time away, a real 'home away from home' feel and one we will definitely be doing again next year.

We loved the experience so cannot think of anything we did not like.

"Never again!"

5.0

The parking was good oh and the tea/ coffee situation in the kitchen was good. Good jam selection at breakfast

Beds were so uncomfortable, it was just an odd place! 2 slices of bread each put in a plastic bag in the fridge for breakfast. We were only there for one night, never to be repeated!

Basic but excellent facilities.

The toaster had failed - but the bread was fresh.

"Very meagre facilities, not very well maintained."

5.0

The location is reasonable with plenty of parking space available. The key was left in a key box for collection. Good prompt communication from the vendor and responds very quickly. It is a quick drive away from the city and the docks if you are going on a cruise. It is only a few minutes from the Tesco. Easy to park, though the designated parking space for the B&B was full when we arrived late night, I parked in the owners area without any problem as it is quite wide as well. There is street parking available right in the front of the property. Old house with the old decor

The whole area is so dark at night ...so literally had to work with a torch light to find the key box and then the key. The room was upstairs and the stairs are bit narrow and old style, so not a place for getting into with luggage. We had a triple room and this was very congested with hardly any space to move around, so putting any luggage was out of the question. It almost felt as if an extra bed was put into the space for a double bed room. We literally had to leave our luggage in the car and thankfully we were staying only one night, otherwise it would have been a big issue. The Bathroom is shared, though there is one on both floors. However, again it is quite a small one and not that well maintained. Being summer it was fine, however I would dread coming into such a place in winter with the way the ventilation in the bathroom looked as most windows looked as if the panes need replacing. Not much of a view from the windows. Ours looked into the front area so could see the cars and the street. The back is quite busy and can be seen from the corridor. It is just about ok for a nightcap in the summers, certainly not good for the triple room. However if you consider just that the cost is steep for that facility. Breakfast is meagre...just cereals, coffee, tea. Dont think the kitchen could accommodate all, perhaps just one room at a time.
