Lovely heritage hotel

Room furniture a little shabby but bed spotless

The ambience and attention to detail was excellent. Staff were so good and the food really tasty. Old world charm

The only negative was the poor sound proofing between rooms. The sound of showers and toilets flushing was deafening especially at night. Fortunately we didn't have much disruption after 11 pm.

A lovely change from a big hotel chain and the most comfortable bed in the world. They have also managed to a cute little pool into what was a heritage building and space. I've seen a few people commenting on the small size but what would you expect? It's perfect for the type of hotel they are curating.

There is a short walk into the centre, which was perfect for me as I like to have a meander. But like all the streets, you have to be able to step off blocked footpaths and over drains. So if you have any mobility issues this is good to know in advance.

This was a really beautiful hotel and the desk staff were lovely. The pool was small but very nice and the massage we had in the spa was good. The walk into town along the river (15-20 minutes) was lovely.

Wifi was very poor in the first room we stayed in (but good in the second one) and connecting doors meant that there was virtually no soundproofing between rooms. By far the biggest problem though (and why this is not getting a 10) was the breakfast. Limited choice (it's not a buffet, as others have noted) and the standard of the food was the worst we've had in South East Asia - including from hotels at a fraction of the cost. Even the coffee was bad. This is an expensive hotel and the breakfast is really not what you expect at this price
