Windsor Cottage: Cosy, Charming, Full of Character

A quiet residential street (no through road so no traffic noise) central to Windsor, train station, Thames, Windsor Castle and other attractions. There was everything you would need for a break away plus the added benefit of it all being so comfortable and well presented. The cottage was well furnished and practical, comfy mattresses on the beds, good quality quilts and pillows. It also has a very efficient heating system and good hot water. Fabulous to have the upstairs toilet and wash basin. Kitchen has all you would need if you wanted to cook and plenty of cutlery and crockery so you did not need to hand wash things until the dishwasher was ready to put on. The coffee machine was an added luxury and the coffee pods were appreciated. The welcome hamper was a surprise, delicious biscuits, milk, beer and a small bottle of “fizz” with a couple of small chocolate bars … what a treat. Location meant we were able to pop out and get essentials and for food without it feeling a chore and the added bonus of being able to see Windsor Castle from the front bedroom (albeit with your nose against the window, see photos) made it even more special. The parking was so convenient and we found we did not use the car at all during our stay as we didn’t need to. The spiral staircase added character to the cottage, was easy to go up and down and didn’t creak like a tradition staircase! The downstairs bathroom with a decent sized bath (shower over it) was a treat especially as I love a wallow in the bath! Communication was excellent, Ann was swift to reply to a query, kept us informed as to what we should expect and the property was meticulously clean and tidy. If I hear of any friend visiting Windsor I would 100% recommend this lovely property.

The house and great location

Excellent communication, loved the drinks and snacks left for me, great documentation about Windsor. The area is very central but at the same time away from the crowds. Modern entertainment system.

We had a wonderful stay, there was great communication from our host, it was spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds and pillows and it is so quiet for such a convenient and central location. Everything is very tastefully decorated and the kitchen and bathroom are brand new. The welcome hamper is a lovely touch also. The children enjoyed climbing the traditional cast iron spiral staircase up to the bedrooms.
