Stylish & cosy barn minutes from the Lake District

Beautiful property, had everything we needed. Easily accessible and great communication from the host. Easily accessible, good parking facilities and nice little garden area. The accommodation is comfortable and clean, a well equipped kitchen, a comfortable bed, a lovely warm shower. It had everything we needed. And a decent hairdryer too! Good access to Ullswater and Derwentwater for kayaking!

Do clean and comfortable, very stylish inside

The barn is gorgeously furnished and really well appointed, set on the outskirts of a village. Great communication from from owner who let us check in early and left a couple of beers which were very welcome after a long, long drive. The location is lovely, you can hear the birds and the cows when you're on the patio but great double glazing means it wqs super quiet inside. Really comfy bed and cozy vibe and plenty of walks close by for our dog. Rounded off our stay with a meal at the pub in the village which does amazing food and is dog friendly, great recommendation from our host.

I understand why we are asked to do it as it saves time on housekeeping, but I don't like stripping the beds !

It was perfect, a lovely place to stay with a beautiful view. Good communication, directions and information and easy access. The bed was comfy, kitchen well equipped and all was just as you’d hope it would be. Dog friendly and secure parking.

There really isn’t anything that was negative.

Fabulous location and base for seeing the Lake District with easy walkable access to the Michelin Star pub just down the road. Dog friendly, parking, and very professional communication from the owner.

Lovely little cottage, well equipped, a little out of the way, but that was fine.

We stayed for 2 nights, at a cost of £304, the price was fine, but we weren’t allowed in until 4pm, we messaged and asked if it was ok if we arrived at 3pm, they declined our request, thus we had to drive in the dark down country lanes, we had to vacate by 10 am, we have stayed at many cottages in the lakes, mostly being allowed in between 1pm and 3pm. We basically lost a full day, there were also a lot of rules about stripping the bed and placing the sheets and towels into a bag, making sure all pots were washed, dried, and put away, we always do this anyway, we don’t need to be told, must say it was a bit of a rush in the morning of our departure, but hey ho.

It was a little too quiet for us ;ok if you want to do nothing

The property was in a great location not far off m6 felt like a million miles away.

We loved the design and the cosiness of the place. Good heating and equipment and good internet with Netflix available a great plus.

The bed was quite poor as the mattress not great and could do with being a split mattress like hotels do so one person doesn’t disturb the other. Pillows could have been more plump. Bit of rising damp present near front on house visible inside with some water showing near the front door. Could do with a small little shower shelf for shampoo and shower gel items whilst in the shower.
