AUThe accommodation was in a great central location, close to everything we needed, which was a big plus. However, several issues seriously impacted our experience.
The property advertises itself as immaculate, but it was far from it. The cleanliness was disappointing and didn’t match the listing’s claims. Additionally, there was a strong smell of marijuana coming from other apartments, which was unpleasant and not what we expected. After we checked out, we received a message from the host claiming the keys weren’t in the lockbox, even though we had returned them as instructed. They demanded $160 for a replacement and sent an invoice the next day. The private message stated: “Hi [Name], we have received this invoice from the host. Could you please make prompt payment. Thank you, Booking.com” Not suspicious at all, right? The invoice lacked a business number and displayed the host’s personal bank details instead. Later, they messaged again, saying they had since found the keys in the lockbox. While the issue was resolved, the lack of professionalism, false claims, and unnecessary stress left a bad impression.

AUGood value for Auckland, easy contact with owners. Walkable distance to supermarket and city centre. We’ll equipped kitchen and full size fridge. Pool, tennis court and gym available.
2nd and 3rd bedroom a bit small. Had trouble understanding the instructions for getting the key, but more our fault and a quick answer from owners sorted it out.
