The kitchen was very dirty, I thought cleaners were supposed to clean?

Could smell smoke in the front room, albeit the owner did explain that a previous guest had broken the rules Someone before us has written on the tall mirror in the bedroom " Please clean me" in the dust on the mirror which suggests it wasn't cleaned well before we arrived. only a small thing and didnt bother us but not a great advertisement

It was very dirty, particularly the kitchen. There wasn’t even a plug for the kitchen sink and there was no washing up bowl so washing dishes had to be done under a running tap. The property has 2 double bedrooms yet we could only find 2 forks in the cutlery which was kept on the kitchen worktop. The oven was so dirty that it triggered the fire alarm, the fumes caused us to choke and the smell lingered throughout our one night stay. To top it all we have just arrived home to a message from the owners asking us for money to replace the cleaning products that they have accused us of taking. Oh the irony. It is hard to tell when it was last cleaned. We usually leave a place cleaner than we find it but as we couldn’t find any cleaning products we tried not to touch anything. The information about the accommodation having parking is misleading. There is a £2 a day car park in a care home about 5 mins walk away. A message received just before we checked in says that there is a 2 hour parking permit in the property for the high street but we couldn’t find it. I cannot believe the message we received accusing us of stealing cleaning products. I will be complaining to Booking.com. After renting several holiday cottages a year for over 30 years this is the first time we have ever been accused of theft of cleaning products. It is as ridiculous as it is insulting.

Parking information, it states there is parking which is misleading because there isn’t. There are car parks close by and the one I used cost £7.50 from 4pm to 10am the following morning

Nice house. Modern feel. Well kitted out.

Bathrooms hadn't been cleaned very well. Toilets had previous guests visits evident. Very creaky floorboards upstairs so quite noisy wherever someone was on the move. Bedroom lights didn't work. Had to steal a lamp from the other room.
