Regenta Beach House Resort, Goa

Absolutely wonderful location. Huge beach front sea view. Very clean and well designed rooms and amenities. Felt safe and secure. Recommended come back place.

A little gem in Goa. Wonderful international type resort right on the seaside in Sernabatim beach, Goa. An all white Greek style property with expansive suites, lush gardens and absolute stunning views. We are two ladies who are regular visitors to Goa. We read about The Beach House Goa in many of the reviews and had been wanting to visit the place which happened. They have a spread out breakfast in their outer lawn and we also sampled their appetizers and drinks at a table laid out for us at their sea facing point right above the beach. They also have a spa which offers refreshing Indian, western and oriental massages. We tried out the Balinese massage and aromatherapy. The masseuses were very good. Their collection of pastries and desserts were absolutely first class. The management and staff were welcoming and professional.

The bar offerings could do with more selection but they had knowledgeable staff willing to cook and come up with innovative drinks and dishes.

Not a lot; it fell well below expectation. That said, the management were clearly attempting to give this tired place a face lift, placing much, if not all of their advertising on a newer building set aside as a wellness centre which did benefit from a number of very comfortable sun loungers ideally placed overlooking the beach. Unfortunately there was nothing in our room to point us in that direction. The only other thing I can say in its favour was it afforded us the opportunity to sample two or three of the local bars/restaurants located nearby on the beach.

The main residential area was a two story block with an external metal staircase leading to the top floor. None of the rooms we could see had a balcony or terrace and there were no sitting out areas. Whilst the room itself was clean and freshly painted, much of the furnishings were from another era. The double bed consisted of two singles pushed together, leaving no room for bedside tables which were placed haphazardly on the adjacent wall along with the telephone. On trying to use the latter to seek advice from reception re dinner (we could only find one page of the menu in the room) there was no dial tone leading us to conclude that the phone was not plugged in. A young member of staff came to our rescue and announced that he had found the “Jack” located behind the “double bed”. This led to our next query, why were we ordering food to be delivered to the room? The answer - this “hotel” did not come equipped with either a kitchen or dinning room, however we were given the option of an 8 minute walk down a dusty track to its sister establishment next door. Under normal circumstances that might not have been a concern, but on passing the said establishment earlier in the afternoon, we noted that it was currently home to a large contingent of the Indian Navy, accompanied by their families. We decided to give dinner there a miss, but accepted the offer of breakfast which took the form of a buffet eaten in the company of well over a 100 youngsters and their mums, most of whom (the children) were clearly looking forward to a day by the swimming pool.

The Beach House did not give us our sea facing executive suit even having confirmed booking booked through booking.com. We had to stay Baywatch resort during our vacation at Goa. We even called them before going to Goa. At that time they confirmed our booking. Very unfortunate.
