Good location and check in information from the host

Unfortunately the place has bed bugs - found out the day we checked out. Luckily we didn’t get many bites, but still not nice to bring home.

Location.. very handy for city centre

Noise from other guests on the stairs .. earplugs would be an advantage

Since there was a heat wave, a sheet, in addition to the comforter would have been good

The location is excellent, with the train station only a 5–10 minute walk away. The room is an ideal size for short stays of one or two nights, and the key collection process was very straightforward and convenient. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained.

Apart from the bathroom, the main room where you sleep feels quite dated. The bed sheets appeared clean, but their color was so faded that it was difficult to tell whether they were actually clean or not. There were dead flies on the windowsill, and the area was very dusty. The mattress was also extremely soft, to the point where it felt quite worn out and offered very little support. It seemed as though most of the original firmness had disappeared over time. The bathroom ventilation fan was covered in dust and could definitely use a thorough cleaning, as it does not give a good impression. There are also some small signs of dampness and mold on parts of the walls, although fortunately they were not severe enough to cause discomfort during our stay. One additional point worth mentioning is that the location listed on Booking.com leads to a different Google Maps listing called “The Little Studio,” which appears to be the unit next door to Oak Studio on the same floor. This property has several very negative Google reviews, including reports of bed bugs. The photos in those reviews look almost identical to this apartment, with very similar room layouts, curtains, and interior design. Before arriving, this created significant concern for us and we even considered booking alternative accommodation because of those reviews. Another issue is the noise insulation. Since the apartment is located on the ground floor, almost every sound from the building can be heard clearly inside the room. People entering the building, walking through the hallway, or using the stairs sounded as if they were inside the apartment itself. We woke up at least two or three times during the night because of the noise. That said, I cannot say that the overall condition of Oak Studio itself was particularly impressive either. After reading the Google reviews about the neighboring property and the reported bed bug issues, we were genuinely concerned and even considered cancelling our stay.

The location is great. Wouldn’t stay for more than one night, however.

My property was taken/stolen/thrown out by the cleaner when I dropped off my suitcase early even though I made it quite clear it was mine (as I saw them on arrival) and I had been told by the owner it could be left before check in. Toilet brush reeked of urine so it could be smelled outside of the bathroom. Walls are extremely thin and opening/closing the front door made my door rattle to the extent that I thought someone was trying to break into my room. Inside of the kettle was completely coated in limescale.

I loved the proximity to the train station.

There were small little like flies and spiders close to the window facing the street.
