The Midtown Cottage- w/ Private Entrance and Views

Convenient and easy in every way. Beautiful view

After a first (lesser) impression upon arrival, you are surprised when you enter the room. Convenient with access code on the door. Everything is there, clean towels, nice shower, comfortable bed, plates/cutlery for when you want to eat something, coffee machine. Lovely terrace behind the room with 2 nice chairs.

Owner must be careful with pricing. Too high relative to what is offered and what hotels can offer for the same amount or less. When you drive up you first think where did I end up? Container in the driveway and it does not look inviting. We like to sleep with the fan on but did not turn it on in this accommodation. The fan blades were covered with a thick layer of dust. Terrace behind is lovely. Maybe sweep before guests arrive. Perhaps the owner could give some tips on where to go for dinner or breakfast as a guest in the area. We did not meet the host, therefore a neutral

Cozy, well appointed studio, with large comfortable terrace. Nice residential neighborhood. Responsive helpful hosts. When we’re next in Santa Cruz, we’d like to stay here again.

All was very nice. A welcome little enhancement would be to have a few hangers or hooks for jackets and such.

Location was great. 10 minutes from beach and dowtown Santa Cruz.

The bed was comfy, good coffee and cookies, provided soaps and lotion.

The TV did not work, there was a large dead spider in the bathroom.

The view here is spectacular! The private patio deck is an exceptional area for picnics and sunbathing. It overlooks trees and makes you feel lifted over ther valley. The host, Jono, was very accommodating with our special request and made my mom's Mother's Day celebration very special. We hiked in the nearby Henry Cowell State Park, which has majestic redwoods over 1,000 years old. 100% worth a visit!

It would be GREAT if they allowed pets

The location was good, the area was quiet.

The room is an extension of the garage, that's fine, but it's not clear in the listing and we would not have booked if we knew. There is a portable electric radiator to heat the room, but due to the poor insulation it got very cold over night. The bathroom looks like in a capsule hotel, the shower head is holding on for dear life, looks like it might fall out of the wall at any moment. There were cobwebs in the room. While a coffee machine was provided, the milk was rancid and clumpy.
