Really impressed with the property on arrival. Quiet location and well presented. There was a lovely welcome hamper left also.

Unfortunately on closer inspection there were a number of issues. The oven had obviously not been cleaned in quite a while. The smell when turned on was overpowering. There was a large spill of fat in the bottom of the oven. The grill pan and cooking trays were also covered with old fat. We had to source oven cleaning products from a supermarket and clean it thoroughly to remove the smell. The kettle had an excessive amount of limescale floating in the bottom. Tried cleaning that but drew the line at already paying to clean the oven. No amount of cleaning rendered it useable. The cooking utensils were also unclean. The crockery and glasses were limited and a number were chipped. The property was surface clean but in reality could have done with a deep clean. Dirty mirrors, a lot of muck on window frames in the bedroom and generally dusty alongside skirtings etc. For two days of our stay a number of large removal vans visited one of the other properties several times throughout the day. It may well have been an unavoidable situation however prior notification would have been appreciated. One of the other properties had two large dogs, which were mainly kept outside. This meant we could not open the front door or take rubbish out and leave the property without a barrage of loud barking. The removal vans and men also inadvertently compounded this issue. There was no information pack left at the property. This meant we had no instruction on how to use the heating or Wi-Fi password etc. I know we could have contacted the owner but a simple folder of instructions would negate this. Our stay was not as enjoyable and relaxing as it would have been if not for some easily avoided issues we encountered.

The property was beautiful , perfect location for Alton towers , had everything you could ever want. Very clean and tidy , the outside area was amazing with bbq and fire pit , amazing weekend away
