Butterfly Space- A Non-Profit Eco-Lodge

This place is amazing. I stayed a couple of years ago but i forgot to leave a review. Beautiful setting right on the lake. Lots of character. Great bar for sundowners. Fantastic people, great ethos. They do so many projects for the community which is what they are all about. The food is also amazing, great choice. Loved using their free paddle boards .Can't wait to go back for a longer visit next time. Big shout out to you all at Butterfly, you've created a very special place.

The staff is very friendly and always happy to help and I felt very welcomed. The location is amazing, next to the lake in a quiet area but in walking distance to town, so getting there is easy. The rooms are cozy and many with a great view through the trees and over the lake. It’s the perfect place to relax and spend some days swimming, using the SUPs, having great food and to meet other traveler’s. Their approach to making this lodge as eco friendly as possible is amazing and they also set up many great local projects to support local communities. This is one of my most favourite places in souther/eastern Africa.

Amazing location..the whole vibe of the place is cool - rooms dotted over the hillside between the trees, all with lake views. Our room was really comfy, and it's so nice to wake up to the sound of the lake! Great food and coffee at the cafe/restaurant. Friendly staff, and a fun bar right next to the lake!

I love everything about the concept of Butterfly Space and all that they do for the local community and the environment. The bar and beach area are absolutely beautiful and the staff are super friendly.

The food at the restaurant was good but quite pricy. The room I'd originally booked months prior wasn't available as it had been given to someone else, which was a shame.

It's a beautiful place, very good for relaxing. We enjoyed the free SUPs, we liked the food, and the staff of the bar and the restaurant were very nice.

The room itself is really not good value for money in Malawi for a shared bathroom small room. Also they quote their price in USD and don't change kwacha on the official rate like everywhere else in Malawi but a lot less favorable, making the price double. We of course understand that you pay here for the nice ambiance, but anyone can visit their bar and restaurant you don't necessary have to sleep there.
