Ushaw Historic House, Chapels & Gardens

It was incredible. I had no idea of how peaceful and beautiful this gem was. The gardens and history of the place was amazing.

The room were given had a very poor bathroom, Infact quite dangerous for an older guest as the bathroom floor was very slippery and stayed wet as it had poor drainage. The water pressure of the shower so nearly non existent so we were given the key to another room, which was a wee bit better. Otherwise the room was great.

Breakfast is simple - a cold buffet but everything you could want. Staff are very sweet and helpful . Our room was immaculately clean with a very comfortable bed and a very efficient shower. The accommodation is part of an wonderful historic house, beautifully presented ,with wonderful things to explore including Pugin chapels. A huge army of dedicated volunteers means this beautiful building is preserved and accessible to all.

Having access to the house, chapels and gardens, it's an amazing place, our room and breakfast were good and staff friendly, welcoming and informative. Will recommend to family and friends to stay here.

The bathroom extractor fan comes on by itself and stays on for ages at certain times of the day
