AF Stays - Philadelphia Callowhill

The location is great. Short (10-15 minute leisurely) walking distance to the historical center of Philadelphia, town hall, convention center, and outlet shopping centers. (There are many other places within walking distance) Parking space is hard to come by in this area, so it's definitely an advantage. The unit itself is cozy and well equipped with everything needed for 2 people. It even has a height-adjustable work desk. The unit is abive a pizzeria, which serves very good pizza, including vegan and vegetarian options. Communication with owner/customer service is very good using Booking's messaging system. WiFi connection was good. There are combined laundry/drier machines (I did not use them, but they are conveniently located on the 1 floor) Note that the area may seem a bit dodgy or even dangerous, but I did not feel unsafe at any time during my stay there. (General recommendation - do not walk alone after 2200 hours. Use an Uber or car to get around - not specifically in this area, just around everywhere)

No elevator and very steep and narrow steps to the units (Units are located at least 1 floor above street level) If you're young, pack light, and have a trolly size baggage, that's not going to be an issue. If you have full-size luggage, be prepared for this. The unit is located above a pizzeria, and the doorbell can be heard from the unit. Not very loud, though. The unit is virtually on a street corner, and chatter from the street is well heard. The same goes for traffic. It is not very loud or very heavy, as the traffic is quite light, but it is heard throughout the entire day and night. If you are used to this type of noise, it will not be an issue. However, if you are a light sleeper- I would recommend rethinking staying here. When I stayed there (Oct 2024), there was construction work just across the street. It looks as if it will go on for a while, and the construction sounds can be heard. There is no option for late check-out or extended stay, even for a fee. Although it is written in the general terms and conditions, this option would have definitely made my life easier.

Area and space was nice. Property manager also stayed in contact if I had any issues, I would definitely stay again! Close to downtown Center City as well is a plus.

Can’t control the temperature of the space.

This is a cozy bedroom, sparkling bathroom, and full kitchen (which we didn't use). The unit is above a pizza place, which smells amazing walking by, but thankfully the aroma didn't seep into the room. A wonderful coffee spot is right next door. We were able to walk to Reading Terminal Market and Love Park. When we were short on time, a Lyft ride was quite affordable and arrived almost immediately. Having the dedicated parking spot is what sold me on the property. That the hosts turned out to be prompt, clear communicators was a bonus!

A caution to light sleepers, you will hear street noise: People having a conversation walking by, a car playing loud music... Not prolonged or excessive, but it's there. These are facts of city life which don't phase me but don't choose this property and then complain about it.

It was perfect for our needs (e.g kitchen to make ourselves a healthy, gf breakfast), superclean, very modern, newly renoved (and well-renovated !!!!) apartment with a dedicated, free parking lot. Location was good, too! (The house looks a bit suspecious outside, but totally different inside!)

We claimed about a bit loose toilet chair. We got a reply immediately and we believe it is fixed for the next visitors !

Loved the view of the crane painted on a building across the way. Bedroom was very comfy.

Being on the 3rd floor made taking our luggage up the stairs harder but oh well 🤷🏻‍♂️
