Alba - Charming boutique forest view cabin with hot tub in Ballater

Loved the location, the accommodation was the perfect mix of comfort and wild beauty, the hot tub was amazing perfect temperature and very soothing with great views. Direct access to a lovely walk to the river . A perfect stay for your dog too. Close to lots of stunning locations to explore.

The only thing we found a little difficult was the access to the bed up the ladder being 3 ladies in our late fifties getting in and out from the access hatch onto the ladder was quite awkward but gave us some good laughs. . Once up the bed was very comfortable though.

Cabin was clean and warm. Location was good as many things to do within driving distance. Would definitely recommend it. Perfect if you're looking for somewhere to base yourself. Going up ladder for top bed good for older kids.

There was nothing that we didn't like. It's not what you're looking for if you're looking to spend a lot of time in the cabin . Wasn't keen on the ladder going up to top bed. Ok for older children but not for adults or younger children

Cosy space which was well equipped, good location

Our unit was right in front of the hot tub, and we could easily see other guests when they were using it. Could definitely do with more private fencing over the hot tub area

For pod style accommodation this was excellent. The room was really well decorated with strong environment principles in mind. The bed was very comfortable

It’s a special compact comfy Cabin with amazing views & super comfy beds! Prompt at sorting anything out brought to their attention or giving further guidance. Very lovely friendly owners & staff! I would love to visit again and highly recommend a stay at the Cabin! The hot tub was great too! Get booking!!!

Spider webs. It is such a beautiful compact space which means everything can be quite up close so easy to notice finer details. There were spider webs around the perimeters of the roof and some cascading down the pendant, this is a minor not meriting a bad review but can be big for some. We just got rid of the ones we could reach because of the children when they see them they see spiders!

Good walks for dogs in the area. Great scenery. Cabin finished to a nice standard. Hot tub.

Hot tub could have been hotter. Heating could have been on before we arrived to warm the cabin.

Beautiful sceneries, cabin was warm, clean and had everything needed for a perfect stay

The hot shower water ran out very quickly and we weren’t expecting but was fine after the first time

The cabin is lovely and very well presented, really feel the eco friendly nature not only from the facilities but also touches of green in the decor of the cabin and the view! We had a lovely few days, an ideal location for a number of walks with our dog. I liked the contactless check-in, Keira had provided detailed instructions in the lead up, and on the day for how to get in. Keira was very friendly and reached out to check everything was okay so I felt if we did have any issues we knew who to contact which was great (though we didn’t need to!) Hot tub was a fab bonus, despite there being other guests in the other cabins they were very considerate, so there was no issues with noise or anyone being in it for too long. Thank you for a lovely stay!

The only thing I would say would improve slightly is if the check-in / out times could be extended at all? Maybe check-in from 3pm or check-out not till 11am would be good just to get a bit longer really so not a big criticism!
