"Awful Stay"

3.0

There was nothing we liked and spent all our time out of this place

The place was infested by loads of tiny flies , all over the walls and on the bed and window sills, we were told to hoover them up, was offered a refund but there was nowhere else to stay as it was over a bank Holiday and we were 200 miles from home Couldn't open the windows as these flies just kept coming in The place smelt of damp, and due to my illness, we had to scrub the place and get air fresheners The advert does not tell you that it is miles away from anything and there is no phone signal, the track to the property is so tiny do not take a big car as our nissn xtrail was completely scratched by undergrowth One of the days we had no parking as the person that owned the property had all her relatives over When i asked the management company for help, I was told that because it is in the country, you get insects, there is a big difference between a few insects and an infestation I wish I had better stuff to say, but unfortunately, I dont

Lovely cream tea welcome. The property had lots of equipment for self catering.

Location is very rural, down several single track roads. So it is quiet and peaceful. The use of a small garden was a bonus but there were lots of annoying flies.

"A lovely setting for a cosy cottage."

9.0

It's small but had everything I needed. It's cosy and well-insulated with plenty of windows to fling open on a sunny day. The setting in Pat and David's gorgeous garden is lovely. The lane is quiet (easy access) and, although it feels remote, the cottage is well-situated for exploring North Cornwall. Pat is a lovely host.

The couch has seen better days.

"Lovely hideaway location"

9.0

A very rural location for anyone coming from a city environment. The roads get narrow for the larger cars. Short drive to the main areas like Boscastle and Port Isaac. Washing machine and dishwasher really handy. Even has ' his and hers ' electric blankets for the cold nights, which is very old-school cosy. Overall it's a fab place to rent and stay. Perfect when you want to get away from the city rush.

Not a problem for us, but the main heating is based from a log burning fire. An initial basket of logs is provided and you just can buy more logs from a local garage. Adds to the cosy factor. Alternatively there is an electric storage heater, which provides good heat providing it is charged up the day previous. Once the water has run out then potentially the water will run cool !!!... until the tank has reheated the following day off the solar panels. This is not a problem if you're having just two or three minute showers, but if you like 10 - 15 minute showers then you will encounter problems, as hot water in the tank will run out.
