Casa Clio in Canton de Fiori

The location very central. Out of the apartment building straight onto the main street opposite Piazza Maggiore. It was very quiet in the apartment. Access was via a main door and their was a concierge present on site so that gave you extra confidence . The elevator up to the 4th floor worked without any issues. All parts of the communal areas were spotless at all times. The apartment was finished to a high standard. It was warm but had option for AC if you were a person who did not like being warm. The bed linen was gorgeous and the massive bed was soo comfortable. Bathroom and shower were very clean and the shower was excellent. The mirror in the bathroom was very large and well lit. The kitchen and dining area were well equipped. We used the oven, washer/dryer, hob, coffee machine and dishwasher . All perfect working order and clean . There was an ironing board , iron, vacuum cleaner and hair dryer. The concierge was at hand if you had any problems and Nicolo was our contact for the apartment and answered any queries via WhatsApp. Check out was easy you just leave your keys on the table in the apartment.You can leave your luggage with the concierge once you have checked out and pick it up for your journey home.

The only minuses were the lack of hanging space which consisted of a narrow clothes rail. For a 6 night stay in Italy this was no where near sufficient. There were no cupboards or shelves even though there was more than ample space for these items. This resulted in a living out of our suitcase and using the beautiful console table and plush velvet pouffes for our folded items.

Thoughtfulness of the host, location, the apartment in general

We liked everything

The appartment (Casa Clio) was a few steps away from playa majorca. The pictures showed exactly the space and condition of the appartment which was perfect. It was also quiet as it was not facing the road. Check-in was very smooth, at least for us - maybe it is difficult only for people who are not familiar with internet(?). There was a consierge where we could store our luggage prior to check in. Everything was really clean and spacious. The room was warm (for us the temperature outside was cold). Wifi was good, there were enough sockets. We did not use the kitchen (just the fridge) so we did not search for kitchen utensils. Communication with the host was really easy. Our stay in Bologna was perfect, if we visit again, we would first check at Casa Clio.

Great location with great amenities. Very comfortable and modern

The way the ad was shown it looked like parking was available which is why we booked. I later realised that parking was in a different location and with extra cost. The property were difficult to contact on the day and there was no specific advice regarding parking. They eventually replied the morning we were leaving

The location was fantastic. Close to the cultural center of the city and nearby to shops, bars, restaurants and cafes. The location was very clean and tidy with a very nice bathroom including a washer / dryer which was handy.

The location was extremely sparsely furnished with nowhere to unpack into and minimal glasses, cup etc.

- The check-in process is regretful to put it politely. No one met us at the door (as described upon booking); Non-flexible check-in time. At 4pm (the official check-in time), we are still waiting for the details and when we tried to call, the staff hanged up on us the first time and did not call back. So we waited and call again and said we are at the piazza in front of the building, he said “goto the front door,” then hanged up (we speak Italian btw, so no miscommunication there). The main door opened remotely and when we texted and ask for other check-in details, he proceeded to lie about he had sent us the check-in details to our WhatsApp, which is impossible, because we do not have the app. Finally, we got screenshots of the details we needed via normal text messages after waiting at the foyer for quite some time; - Communication of the staff is poor before check-in, during the stay and afterwards. Literally, no one check if everything is okay, no one check if we have checked out. Be self sufficient or just book somewhere else; - No luggage storage service is available even though it was listed; In fact, most of the services listed is not provided (e.g. minimarket on site; photocopying, patio etc) If there are a particular services you really need, I would suggest you confirm it beforehand. It looks to me, they copied the list of services from a 3-4 star hotel and pasted it in their listing; - Links to provide identity details was only provided on the day whilst we were travelling (with limited privacy and reliable internet access). It should have been provided at least a few days before, in my opinion; - There are other minor negative points (like 1 small can of cold water to welcome two people booked for 3 nights?!), anyway, this review is long enough, just be self-sufficient and pray there wouldn’t be any problem during your stay;
