The Poplars

Plenty of room to park, room spotlessly clean and well appointed, lovely shower. Breakfast very good, all ingredients good quality including fried slice which is not often a choice these days. Very nice coffee. Unfortunately due to personal reasons breakfast wasn't available for last two days, but Amanda gave a more than fair refund.

I liked everything although I was I believe upgraded from my original booking due to an admin error. I am confident that my needs for my original booking would also have been most satisfactory.

This is not a criticism as can't be helped but the road works up the road to Thirsk meant a long road trip around. This will be done and dusted in a few days I'm sure and probably won't affect anyone else's stay. A short mile ish journey turned into a 6 mile trip. Just wish we'd known.

Amanda was extremely helpful from the minute we stepped out of the car, even to ask if we'd rather have one of the cottages rather than the room in the main house we had booked. The accomodation was outstanding, clean, LJ comfortable and cosy. Nothing was too much trouble and Amanda even booked us into the pub in the next village for our tea the following night. There was a good choice of different items on the breakfast menu and it was lovely to chat to Amanda as she was serving us. The place has a lovely family feel to it as well, with one of the daughters helping with bringing us our order through from the kitchen. The accomodation is in a good location five minutes from Thirsk not too far from the train station and racetrack. There is ample parking on site too. All in all we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return.

There was nothing to dislike!

The location was great, far enough away from the Town Centre that there was limited outside noise but close enough for a nice walk. The room was beautiful, very clean and all needs catered for. Amanda, the host, was so friendly and helpful. Wonderful breakfast. Thirsk Town Centre has much to offer, lovely places to eat. The World of James Herriot is a must visit, very reasonably priced and so interesting, especially if you're a fan of 'All Creatures Great and Small'.

We were in Nidderdale on the ground floor and the noise from the guests in the room above was intrusive at 5am both mornings. I know that the host is aware that noise transference can be an issue but I think this is down to consideration of individual guests

Location is quiet and near the railway station for services into York, cottage was clean tidy well appointed.

Double bed was too soft for my preference but otherwise everything was great

Wonderful stay at Poplars b&b. Amanda the owner is lovely, breakfast first class. Room spotless. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have booked again for next year.

Lovely room and bathroom, very clean and comfortable. Nice location, easy to find and easy to park.
