The location was perfect, just by the train station. The host was lovely and the breakfast fantastic -- abundant, delicious, and cooked on the spot.

Came back today after two days of staying in the Herriot Cottage.We had an amazing time,lovely cottage,comfy, and peaceful.Amanda is very welcoming and friendly.Would definitely go back.The views are lovely with the horses and Donkeys and sheep.Thank you

The cottage was at the back of the main property with a lovely view of horses and donkeys. The cottage was very comfortable with everything we needed.

When we arrived the heating hadn’t been put on and the house was freezing. The owner was very quick in bringing heaters and it soon warmed up.

The chalet was comfortable and clean. There were ample facilities for self-catering and the location was in close proximity to the facilities of Thirsk, York and the wider Yorkshire region.

Location was awesome with plenty of parking space. Herriot cottage has everything you need and the shower is absolutely wonderful. Didn't get to meet any staff over the holiday period (we missed each other) but communication with Amanda was great.

Not a huge deal but WiFi was not great. I found the double mattress a bit too firm for me and the headboard was very loose. Would not stop me rebooking though 🙂.

We stayed in the Granary Cottage. We were there for a family wedding and we definitely won the accommodation game. We had the best by far of everyone. The Kitchen was neat and well organised, which saved us a lot of money by not eating out. More than everything we needed was provided - they even had an ironing board provided to spruce up our posh clothes before going to the wedding. The bed was lovely, the sofa was very comfortable and having our own space beyond a hotel room was such a wonderful relief. We found it very relaxing and would be very happy to visit again.

We were very satisfied with everything and do not wish to make any complaint. One thing I will note is that they have provided a non-slip mat for the shower that another guest appears to have put away in the drawer while it was still damp. It has now got a bit of mildew on it, but this is in no way an reflection on the cleanliness of the property, which was exemplary.

Loved the accomodation was very cosy, with onsite parking. Thirsk is a gorgeous village and easy access to York by train.
