CasaViva - Central Beautiful Bilo in Santa Margherita L.

Great location

The apartment - The shower doesn't drain. Rubbish disposal is a nightmare! But the location is spot on. Good wifi, netflix TV. Functioning kitchen (washing machine drawer doesn't open) Lovely large terrace, good space. We had a good time! The check in - Arrived 15 min before check in, and the host insisted on keeping us waiting till 4 pm. After a long journey with kids ... exhausted with luggage, it could have been handled better. Having said that, the cleaner who was still in the apartment and the lovely man rushing to organise the bedding were very amicable. Another peculiar aspect was the inordinate number of passport pictures and check-in procedures. They asked for photos with each guest showing their passports and back and front of the passport . The check-in website wasn't working properly, and uploading everyones pictures I found odd as I have never been asked for this before. Also, before giving keys, they FaceTime to see your passports again, which I found bazaar and quite stressful. Maybe they have had bad experiences with other guests?

Very comfortable mattress, clean apartment, air conditioning works well

The apartment itself was very nice. Comfortable bed, block out covers on windows perfect for sleeping, a/c gets to all rooms, big lounge room and kitchen pretty good, and could be better with a couple of easy improvements. Had the host sneered any of our questions we sent them, it could have been made better for us. For example there is a dishwasher, we think as there are satchels for a dishwasher, but the door to it could not be opened. There were no drying clothes or plug for the sink so washing up was difficult- only paper towels for drying anything.

The host uses automated standard messages which are very cold, matter of fact and contain so many rules. This is concerning before you arrive, but continue throughout your stay. However, they only answered us once. We asked for an early check in ahead of 4pm.(Personally I think 4pm is poor practice for a full days rent, 12, 1pm when unit is ready should be implemented) Although we sent the request 3 days before our arrival date there was no response. After a third message while we sat outside the apartment, they kindly sent through the codes to get the keys and allowed us in early. The keys are in a lockbox a little tricky to find in a different area…but slowly you can work it out. Another couple of messages were sent to us during our 3 days, asking how our stay was and that they would call the next day. This never happened. We did send a message as above about the dishwasher problem and drying clothes, but didn’t get any responses. The back of the door has many rules, some contradict each other, especially in relation to rubbish, I just took all rubbish down to bins on the waterfront. Personalised service would be a much better alternative to the present system which appears to be a chore rather than providing a genuine service.

Very nice apartment in amazing location 5 mins walk from everything, well presented with nice decor, comfy bed, cute terrace, lift for luggages and trolley, a real gem in the heart of Santa Margherita Ligure! The walk to Portofino was lovely…

As said above everything is very nice, however they could leave more amenities for toiletries and the shower hose and head was little weak, anyway it didn’t affect at all our holiday, only with little more attention to details this apartment could be a 10 out of 10!

Location Linens cleaneness

Need maintenance: dirty walls, outdated electrical installation, low quality kitchen utensils and insufficient for 4 people. Only one air conditioning is installed in the hallway for the whole house, noisy and inefficient air conditioning. Cleaneness to enhance over all: dust, dirty kitchen ustensils. CasaViva only gives a kit with a dishwasher tablet even if the stay is for several days, no kitchen linen, lack of necessary items for cooking such as oil. The chore of throwing away the trash much further from the house in public trash cans next to the beach, CasaViva could take charge of waste management for the comfort of the tenants.
