Staff was exceptional. Breakfast was the best we had!

The photos are deceiving. I booked this as a place to relax and get some Sun on their deck near the end of our trip. But the photo of their deck with the pool is totally wrong. That view is only for a private room. The rest of the deck is OK, but old and tired. So disappointed with it.

Haben manchmal an der Tür auf Einlass gewartet und dann auf das Check in. Im Bad besteht durchaus der Bedarf der Wartung der Wasserhähne und Duschamaturen.

We stayed here for just over two weeks so got to know the Riad, the staff and the area really well. On first impressions the decor seemed rather ‘industrial and a little stark’ but this was intentional and rather funky. Our room was spacious and so was the bathroom. An added bonus was the wood burner in our room, which we really appreciated on the more chilly nights. The lovely staff would light it for us whenever we requested it. Regarding the staff - they couldn’t have been kinder or lovelier. They were always happy to help and made our stay very special. The area can seem a little dark and murky in the surrounding streets to someone who hasn’t been before, but we always felt perfectly safe and comfortable. The breakfasts were a highlight, particularly when it was warm enough to sit on the roof terrace.

Not necessarily a dislike, but pack earplugs if you are a light sleeper as it is quite near the mosque for the early morning call to prayer. Eventually you get used to it and it’s all part of the background to Essaouira. Occasionally the hot water system played up, but it was soon sorted out.
