Das Zimmer ist insgesamt stark renovierungsbedürftig. Es roch im Zimmer modrig, im Bad nach Abfluss. Es war nicht sauber. Als Handtücher gab es Geschirrtockentücher. In der Dusche gab es kein Licht. Auch die Bettdecke war bescheiden.

Mirko was very responsive to us and so helpful. He was a pleasure to speak with and gave excellent recommendations on local restaurants and things to do.

An excellent little gem of a hotel, inside the walls of Lucca, and a very short walk from the train station. There are only five rooms, and the hotel is only open 7 months of the year, so if it’s available when you go, BOOK IT. The rooms are spotlessly clean, kept so by the owner who comes in every day to do so (and he has great advice on day trips from the city as well). The rooms are not 5* luxury properties - but they have a large and comfortable bed, a good-sized shower with plenty of hot water, a wardrobe to hang clothes, a small desk, and a good sized window looking out to a small garden. Because it’s in an ancient building with thick stone walls, the rooms are quiet and you will sleep like a baby. Note that the owner is only there for a few hours a day, and that the desk is not manned 24/7. You get your key with a fob that gets you in the front door, and if you check in after he has left, you get an access code that will let you in the front door and your key will be in your room. For someone whose idea of a hotel for travel is to sleep comfortably, get up, shower, and leave until you come back to change for dinner, then this is the perfect choice,

Nothing really needs improving. Do note that an old stone building will get cooler at night, and the radiators are on only during specific months - but the extra blanket in the wardrobe was more than enough to be comfortable (and if you are there in a very hot month, you will appreciate coming into a cooler room!).
