Cozy 1BD San Miguel-Plaza Mayor city centre

Great location! Grocery shop and Mercado de San Miguel right next door and close to Plaza Major. Updated apartment with dishwasher and clothes washer.

The sofa was horribly uncomfortable with no cushions. There were only 2 pillows on the bed. Only provided two forks, not a huge inconvenience, but why only two? Even though there were only two of us, the apartment should be stocked for 4 people. With a better stocked kitchen and a few extra cushions and pillows, this apartment would rate a perfect "10".

Bathrooms are tiny (shower 60*60 cm). The apartment was not very clean.

The apartment was very cold (I visited in December). When I entered it had only 16°C. After turning on the two electrical heaters it had maybe 19°C and the floor was still very cold. The apartment was also very noisy: You could hear other people talking at 3am in the morning through the walls.

The apartment is just next door to the Mercado de San Miguel which is no longer a mercado bit rather a tapas/vino spot with various vendors. If that's your thing, that's great. The best part for me was how quiet the room was even being in the very touristy part of Madrid. The bed was comfortable and the room could be darkened. Very little noise to speak of. I slept very well. Centrally located. You could walk anywhere in the center and there are also two close subways, Opera and La Latina.

The sofa was made of plywood and was quite uncomfortable to sit on.
