The house itself and its safety, location and the quietness of the apartment building.

Really well-located in the centre of the city only a 10 minute walk from the cathedral, it was also light and spacious and cosy, wifi was really fast, and Agostina our host very friendly and welcoming!

The walls are a bit thin so you can occasionally hear people moving about in other apartments (but it is away from the road so not too noisy and we didn’t find it a problem)

The location worked very well for us. It's a short walk from the train station and a reasonable distance from the downtown area, there was never a need for a taxi. There is a great grocery store right across the street. The host family (mom, dad and two small children) all met us when we arrived, which was very quaint. It's nice to see where our money is going and to a young family feels better than just a big hotel chain.

It's a small complaint, but our adult daughter slept on the pull out couch and had to sleep sideways to get comfortable.

The place is really clean and secure. The hosts are kind to even give us cooking as a welcome and there are some coffees and cookies as well. The wifi is fast and they have usable kitchen (but you have to buy all condiments). The fromt of the building is a supermarket and beside is a panificio with good food at a very low price.

The location is far from the major areas for parties and buying local street food. If you are used to walking over 20 mins then it is ok. If you will arrive in Palermo before 16:00, then it will not be suitable for you because the check in time is 16:00 and beyond 20:00, you will already have to pay 20 Euro which for us is not very nice since there is always a possibility of delay both for the airlines and the train and even with car if you drive. It’s the first time that we have booked a place with that condition of late start for check in and with additional pay after 20:00 which is also early. Lastly, 10:00 am check out without even being 10:00-11:00 which is normal is also not good. They already rang the bell at 4 mins after 10:00. We know that it is already late for 10:00 am check out but I would say that it is really not normal and not nice for a vacation to have that very early and sharp check out. Overall, the price is ok and they seemed polite, they also gave suggestions of where to go.

It was very clean and everything was brand new and well thought. The furniture and all electric devices were excellent. The apartment is really near the Porta Nuova. Right across the street is a super market and directly below, near the main entrance an excellent Bakery.
