NZLovely private little nest in the forest, just as it's called. Great deck!!! It was even beautiful in the rain.
There was nothing I didn't like..... It would have been nice to have some form of cooking facilities. Thought next time I'd bring the bbq. A wee bench top oven or bbq out on the deck would have been great 😃

The steps up to the loft bed were very steep and without a handrail. Outdoor shower and toilet were rustic and I’m sure the composting toilet wouldn’t be for everyone. No sink or running water in the cabin and the outdoor one is not under cover, so have an umbrella with you for when it rains.
NZNZLocated in a small native forest, a few minutes drive from Takaka. Unique, tiny home experience with loft bed and external bathroom . Very private.
Online info needs to be more accurate eg, the couch was not a sofa bed as claimed (as far as I could tell). Steps to loft bed could be made non-slip and perhaps a safety railing? Loft bed won't suit everyone, but a sofa bed is a good alternative.
NZNZLocation was good as close to town. Good parking area. Very friendly wee tabby cat came to say hello which was probably the best part!
Fridge and freezer were dirty. Freezer had a spilt drink all through it that no one had even attempted to clean. The fridge had someone's old (half drunken) milk in it. Stairs to bed are steep and slippery with socks on etc. No handrail. The location is not really 'in the forest' as such. You have to drive through about 4/5 other cabins on the driveway to get here up to the Fantail cabin, there is also another house/cabin further up the driveway, so you get people driving up the drive etc. There were ants on the ceilings and walls by the bed (the bed is less than 1 metre from the roof so not very nice to have ants all above you). Would've expected the 'outdoor/camping' vibe with the toilet situation etc. but just the full uncleanliness was just not okay.
