Composting toilet did not have a venting fan and thus rather smelly.

Everything was amazing expect the toilet is stinky all the time. And flys coming in. But did not really bother us! We enjoyed everything else!!
NZGreat weekend away. Super lovely property that felt very private. Everything was comfortable and clean and being able to sit out on the deck in the morning/afternoon sun was truly magical. Would definitely stay here again!
Photos on the website need updating as we had brought our own food to cook on the BBQ or the two burner shown on the deck and in the kitchen in the photos. We were excited to have an evening BBQ on the deck however when we arrived there was no BBQ or cooker so that was a little disappointing. Thankfully the host managed to pull together a cooker and some pans/pots which we were very thankful for.
NZNZunfortunately we saw no host but the place was open. we could not believe our eyes when we arrived, we did not expect this. especially climbing up the big steps as two 69 year olds to the loft bed :):0) but we did it :) its an experience of a lifetime, a real kiwi experience. sadly it rained all night and it would have been nice to have a roof over the kitchen sink. thanks for a great stay middle in the bush.

NZOverall, the accommodation was good value but I would not recommend it to elderly people or anyone with mobility issues because of the difficult access to and from the bed. The steps up to the sleeping platform are large and hard to navigate with very little to hang onto when climbing or descending making it potentially dangerous, especially for anyone who is not strong, flexible, scared of heights or unsteady on their feet!
I was given the wrong code for the lock box so couldn't access the property for an hour after arrival. I had to ask a neighbour for help after trying, unsuccessfully, to contact the property owner by phone. I then had to call an employee of one of the owners courier company (their contact details were kindly provided to me by the neighbour), who then got back to me with the correct code for the lock box. It was a stressful and disappointing start to our stay. I'm not sure if Booking.com or the property owner are responsible for the key issue but it needs to be addressed!
ATVery cozy accommodation surrounded by beautiful nature. We loved the tiny house style and the ecological awareness everything is build with. The kitchen offers everything you need. The bed on top of the room is very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!
There was nothing we disliked. Just be aware that there is no flush toilet (compost toilet), step stairs to the bed, an outdoor sink (not in the kitchen) and a steep gravel road leading to the house (easier with 4WD). But again, we liked all of these facts and they are all shown in the accomodation's profile.
