Rosie and Jim Retreat with hot tub indoors amazing

Chrissy is a lovely lady and you can see how much she puts her heart and soul into making everything perfect, little gifts and sweets and treats everywhere, if you want something different and a little quirky and a change from a normal hotel room give it a go you wont be disappointed. The location is brilliant and right in the centre of Lincoln.

Nothing. We left with out unpacking the boat was a dangerous and health & safety hazard ! Woodburner that bellowed out black smoke inside the boat . Absolutely filthy and was told there was no drinking water as it’s contaminated. Was provided with bottled water but lids was open ? The smell onboard was horrendous which made me sick we had to leave after 20 mins of being on board . Made are excuses and left . A embarrassing boat for Lincoln . Also no flushing toilet on board ! The hot tub is an old lazy spa with dirty water inside and inflatable toys which have seen better days . The boat & cafe moonraker need closing down . It’s an accident waiting to happen I’m afraid !!!!!

We loved the quirkiness and novelty of the boat, and how every single detail had been thought through. We were really looked after. We really enjoyed being in the city centre and feeling like we were in a quiet riverside setting at the same time. The host was really thorough and generous, and came straight back to us when we had questions. It's made me want to spend more time in a narrow boat and explore boating life. It suited the setting of historic Lincoln to a tee. We were going to go out in the evening but it was so cosy we stayed in the boat as there was so much entertainment available there such as the huge DVD collection and board games. The little touches of providing nibbles and posh hot chocolate meant we didn't need to go out! We have already recommended the boat to friends and family. A great experience!

We did love it however if we had stayed more than a night we might have needed some of the very ample cupboard and countertop spaces to be available. It was so nice though that it was nigh on perfection. So much more of an experience than staying in a hotel.

Fantastic location! A few minutes walk from the train station, easy to find. It’s in walking distance of the castle, cathedral, bars and restaurants. The beds were so comfy we stayed for 2 nights and slept so well and with the log fire on it was cosy. Lots of treats and snacks and breakfast bits, actually far too much for us, there were so many options. We really enjoyed our stay. Chrissie was lovely and gave such a warm welcome and went above and beyond as a host. When I mentioned it was my mums birthday she came the next day with strawberries and champagne for her which was really sweet. We definitely plan on coming again, it was one of our best trips and a fab experience to stay on a boat. Highly recommend!

I personally don’t like that the butter and jam had been used before us I would prefer individual packets even if that meant less snacks, same with the bottles of water I would prefer less snacks but sealed water even if it was just one bottle instead of multiple as most people would just buy more themselves if they needed. I think the jug for the toilet would be better replaced with a bottle or just a normal jug in there to fill from the taps so the water flows a little better for flushing. I also prefer to have chemicals in the hot tub not having them made me not use it but my Mum did and enjoyed it. None of these things impacted our stay and wouldn’t stop us coming as we still found it the perfect retreat. They are just my personal preferences and just advice as a guest and not meant as a complaint :)

Had a very warm welcoming vibe, very cozy, enjoyed the hot tub way too much plus all the extra essentials that was provided, really quirky and cute. The stay was pleasant, fire is warm, all in all generally no complaints.

Ideal location . More than enough breakfast and treats left for us. Very comfortable. Wonderful friendly host .

Some areas weren’t the cleanest but overall it was decent quality.

The location was fantastic literally minutes away from restaurants market, bus and rail and attractions. But once on board it was like stepping away into peaceful country retreat. The breakfast hamper was plentiful. We stayed 2 nights and were contacted after the first night to make sure all was ok. When we returned there were 2 newspapers (one local) and cakes on doorstep waiting. Chrissy literally couldn't do enough.
