"Mazatlan Condo is a Mexican Gem!"

8.0

My husband and I just spent our sixth Christmas vacation at this relaxed beach resort. Costa Bonita is a very well maintained condo development situated on the beautiful Ceritos Beach. The location is ideal for walking the beach, exploring Mazatlan and the surrounding area. Costa Bonita has two swimming pools, a hot tub, and a very tasty Palapa restaurant, that only owners and renters can access. They also have two tennis courts, a gym and many lovely gardens, that are home to Iguanas of every size. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, making Costa Bonita a home away from home.

"Small scale, excellent condo property in Neuvo Mazatlan"

10.0

My husband and I are returning to this property Jan.03 to Apr,04,2015 which is our 8th straight year of staying there. We rent direct from an owner,2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, dining room, living room, washer/dryer, computer, satellite TV, Alberta Vonage phone number so very easy to keep in touch with family.. This is a small condo property on (in our opinion) the best beach in Mazatlán, close to the Cerritos area in North (Nuevo) Mazatlán.. I believe there are about 130 units (1,2& 3 bedroom) units in a gated community right on the beach. Bldgs, A-B-C form a horseshoe shape all with ocean views. We rent in D Bldg which is the newest building which sits behind A-B-C Bldgs. amidst a huge pond teaming with fish, resident turtle, & blue herron on occasion. Most of the units are owned by owners who are resident or will rent to individuals. This resort.has some time share units thru Interval which are not in the best condition. Since we are time share owners ourselves with Interval, we have advised them of the short coming of their units but to the best of my knowledge they have done nothing to monitor/improve the units they hold. Too bad as it gives a big black mark to Costa Bonita Condo & Beach Resort on their Interval Website... The contact person I have at the Resort is Antonio Martinez Rubio @ "thony_182@hotmail.com". Antonio is a great guy, who acts as concierge for this property and is also involved in selling real estate (only if you ask). He is very accommodating and he has a few units left for rent. Most renters are 'long term' renting for 1-2 or 3 months. Very quiet property, lighted tennis courts, beach volleyball, two pools (one heated and one not ...commonly referred to as the Canadian pool), jacuzzi, beautiful gardens and pond area, on-site restaurant/bar (beachfront) called Palapa Restaurant with very good food and reasonable rates. The beach area is very well groomed with palapas/lounge chairs and is monitored by security 24/7. People strolling on the beach/or roadway in front of the Resort are not allowed on the property, unless previously arranged with an owner/guest staying there. . The bus stops right at the front door and you can go practically anywhere in Mazatlán for about $0.60 per ride. Amazing in this day and age. Cabs are readily available (also very reasonable) which the front desk can order for you. There is a brand new mall nearby which has a Sears Store and Liverpool Store(which is an upscale department store... quite expensive in my opinion. Also has 2 movie theatres (in English ) which are very reasonable & first run movies. .jAcross the road from the Mall is the new Walmart Store. We regularly use the bus during day time travel but if we go out at night we usually take a cab and are with a group of people. . There is a host of fine restaurants to be tried everything from great seafood, (remember Mazatlan is the shrimp capital of the world), sports bars, fine dining and just plain good eating at very reasonable prices. Most restaurants have entertainment in the evenings. Many sightseeing opportunities are available and can booked right from the Resort at great rates. Yes, there are 'time share' people on the street and especially exiting the airport ... but if you say "we are owners" and keep walking they tend to leave you alone. The big, new RIU HOTEL (all inclusive high rise) is a 5 minute walk up the beach. We never change money to USD because ATM's and banks are readily available for money exchange. I am sure our Canadian dollar is a little de-valued right now because of the decline in the markets but changing Canadian $ to pesos last year we got 1.12 pesos to our dollar at the bank.. I must say I totally concur with Janis Wilson's comments re this property. The staff are first class and most have been there for many years and know you by name. How great is that. If we were 20 years younger we would definitely buy a condo in this Resort....its that good. .

Nice staff, but totally unorganized. The resort is a dump, old and falling apart. Great location though.

"Great Place to stay in Mazatlán"

8.0

Just got home to the UK after spending five glorious weeks at Costa Bonita Mazatlán. This is a great place to stay in the Cerritos area to the north of Mazatlan. It isn't a high rise development and only rises seven storeys tall. It consists of four buildings A,B and C being built in a horseshoe shape which encompasses swimming pools, jacuzzi, gardens and the Palapa restaurant which serves great food and drink very reasonably priced. These buildings overlook the beautiful sandy beach. Building D is nearer the road and is set in the most amazing gardens and lagoon complete with plants and fish. All buildings have balconies with amazing views. Little rope and wooden slat walkways in the sand lead to sun loungers which are free and wonderful little palapas which are great if you want to cool off. This is a great place to stay and is only a short ride to the new mall which includes stores such as Sears and Liverpool. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone who appreciates relaxing in the sunshine in beautiful surroundings.

"Really beautiful"

8.0

This facility has a lot to recommend it - an adult pool, nice and deep and heated, with a swim-up bar, free wifi that occasionally works (but the free shuttle to town has excellent wifi service), lovely views, a nice large area for families with separate pools. There are only 2 restaurants on site, though, and the food is expensive and not that great. For a week, this is a wonderful place to be.

"Costa Bonita first time visitors"

10.0

Not sure why there is not a lineup of vacationers wanting to rent a condo here. We rented privately from owners of a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom, full kitchen, dining area and living room. Furnishings and location obviously vary from owner to owner, so do shop around as this is not a resort so don't be expected to be entertained. However, the amenities include tennis courts, beautiful pools, hot tub and the best features are the beautiful beach location with comfortable lounge chairs and palapas and the excellent restaurant poolside. The outdoor restaurant serves a good variety and has a daily special for breakfast and lunch as well as a bar. We stayed 2 weeks in April. But only stay here if you want charming staff, friendly people, quiet evenings, exceptional beachfront, and great value!

"Just returned from our 4th stay"

8.0

Rented from an owner again, we stayed from Jan 12 to the 28th everything was nice. The condos are all owned by retired Canadian and American snowbirds, you rent from owners, not from some corporation. It is quiet, there are absolutely no organized activities. There is an activities desk where you can book everything from adventure tours to zip line outings. The party and shopping area of town is a 10 minute, 70 cent bus ride from the front of the building. The restaurant is good, prices are low. The building and grounds are gorgeous. The beach is the best in the area. I've seen some odd comments mentioning the timeshare sales people and the noisy party atmosphere. They are obviously confusing the Pueblo Bonito resort with the Costa Bonita. Costa Bonita has ZERO timeshares; it is 100% privately owned residences. And it is NEVER noisy or a party place.
