Cosy lakeview cabin 45 minutes from Reykjavik

The location was beautiful, and the cabin was clean and well-equipped with kind and friendly owners. The outside space was brilliant, including the hot tub, and the location was great for exploring by car too. We'd definitely come back and stay again!

What was there no to like about Ragga and Freyr's lakehouse cabin?!? - Gorgeous mountain views with gentle lake sounds - a sauna and hot tub (which we didn't get to try out, but next visit, we will!! You can essentially create your own private spa experience instead of paying money to go to one of the geothermal spa locations!!!) - heated floors, which I now want to have in our own house haha - amenities such as a mini stovetop and fridge, stocked with some goodies left by the hosts and a Nespresso machine - privacy and quiet!!!! As someone that grew up in the mountains, I really value my quiet, peaceful time and miss the sounds of nature now that I live in the city - this location really was so tranquil, theres not a lot of cars that go by. - there is a nice little cafe/restaurant down the road you can walk to that we stopped for dinner at after we got checked in. Wish we had went back to try a coffee, maybe next time ;) - its a good location if you want to drive out to Snaefellsnes for a day trip, drive up to Glymur for a long hike, or get on the 'Golden Circle' to check out Gullfoss, Geysir, Brúarfoss, Thingvellir National Park or Kerið Crater With it only being 45 min from Reykjavik, so if the weather is too rubbish to do outdoor things, its a short drive down to check out museums. Ragga - I can only hope I can return the favor to your hospitality whenever you decide to come this way - I may not have a cabin, but can fix you tradtional southern meal on your travels through ;)

Everything was awesome :) just be sure to be well stocked for groceries if you plan on cooking your own meals since the closest store is about 30 min away (not an inconveience for us, but know it may be for some).

Clean, organised with everything you need, cozy and a stunning view

Sauna was not included, and no washing machine

Amazing views, comfort, supplied local food, the heated floors and towel rack are the only heat source and we were never cold inside this lovely cabin! Oh and the just installed barrel sauna with a window overlooking the lake and mountains! The horses across the road that would stare at us as we walked to our car in the morning, and make the best horse noices!

It was so Cosy and comfortable after our long day's visiting everything iceland had to offer. It was so beautiful and we are very lucky to of stayed in such a lovely location.

Very clean and comfortable with all the items you could want/need! We appreciated the option to turn off some lights on the adjoining property as we enjoy a dark at night which is becoming harder and harder to find these days. We would return.

Minor, but some decorative Christmas lights on adjoining property were not able to turn off which caused some light glare inside at night.

Beautiful accommodation by the lake, breathtaking view from the window, privacy.... Very cosy and equipped beyond expectations. Adjustable heating, candles, outside lighting, very romantic! We enjoyed fantastic stay there, thank you 🙂
