"Charming Townhouse in the Peak District"

8.0

Absolutely loved this little home! The parking spot down the road was an added bonus and my Mom and I adored the included breakfast at the Old Original Pudding Shop. Having a kitchen was also a huge bonus and the welcome basket was nice, even though we only indulged in the wine. The location is fantastic for many places in the Peak District. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Highly recommend, would stay at again.

The scent sticks were WAY too overpowering. Thankfully, they were only on the lower level, but my Mom and I are VERY sensitive to perfume and mold. Speaking of mold, the washing machine NEEDS a deep clean. It smelled very strongly of mold to a point where we could not use it, it was that bad. It's coming from the place where you put in the detergent. Please, for the sake of other's health, have that professionally cleaned! Also, was a little disappointed that there was no salt or pepper, but there were two salt and pepper holders. Completely empty. Please refill those for other guests, thank you. The shower drain was also clogged and needs to be cleaned out. It was like that when we arrived, but took short, quick showers to prevent any issue.

"Outstanding.Great location."

10.0

This place is exceptional. The house has been tastefully restored,to a very high standard, yet it retains all of its charm. It is very well furnished,It really is charming.I would definitely recommend it, We had a wonderful visit, and our only regret was that we didn't stay long enough.Bakewell is very central for visiting Derbyshire and the Peak area . Having a breakfast included in this booking is a bonus,a substantial breakfast is available, and this set us up for the day..

Not having booked a longer stay.

"Excellent place, well appointed in a great location. Good comms from the owners and an excellent breakfast at a nearby c"

9.0

Plenty of things to like about this place. Location was good and easy to find. It is up the hill a little but my parents in their 80’s had no problem. There’s everything you need in the property with a full kitchen and everything you need for a holiday. Living room is a little small for six adults but was certainly big enough for four, and should be okay if there are children with you. Bedrooms are plenty big enough with a good amount of storage. The dining area was a good size with plenty of room for us all. The outside space gets the sun when it is high enough and was great place for a drink and afternoon relax. The main town with all its facilities were only a short walk away, even in the rain!

If I were to be picky the only slight downside would be the parking which is around 5 to 10 mins walk away but is to be expected in an old town where cars were not really a consideration when the town grew!

"Great house if you only have 1 car"

8.0

We were 2 couples and a baby so having the third bedroom was great. The house is small but plenty big enough for us. The garden was lovely. We thought the astroturf was a clever touch. Short walk to town, less than 5 mins. Having breakfast at the Original Pudding Shop was fun, but we could have fed ourselves and, perhaps, paid a little less rent The area is lovely with nice walks

Parking was difficult. The included space is not next to the house but a walk away. We were 2 couples from different areas therefore had 2 cars. Extra parking in Bakewell was very difficult. Finally found a tiny carpark which had overnight parking later in the day and were able to leave the car for 2 days. Slightly wasted the afternoon trying to sort this out.

"A lovely cosy cottage close to town and river"

8.0

The location was excellent - short stroll to the park, riverside and shops. The house was very clean and comfortable with all the kitchen equipment needed. Parking was easy and close by. Very comfortable beds. Beautiful flowers in pots. Breakfast at the Pudding Shop was delicious. Our only issue was it was a little too late for our our three year old so we only went once.(The shop only opened up the upper floor breakfast room at 9am and then it was another half hour before the food came) The food was excellent though and it was a great extra included with the cottage.

Pram access was difficult. On the first day we could wheel the pram up round the back and go through into the garden step free but after that a Tesla parked blocking the back gate. This meant having to wake her up to come in through the front.

"Perfect."

10.0

The cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. It was really beautiful and peaceful, so quiet and had everything we needed. You can hear the church bells and it’s just a short walk into Bakewell. Staff very responsive. Highly recommend bus 170 to Chatsworth or the train station, it’s very affordable and a beautiful ride
