Clear instructions given for key collection. The cottage is absolutely value for money. Best fitted for day trips to York or Leeds.

Couldn't find any...!!!

Close to local amenities, parking was a bonus (best for small/medium cars otherwise abit tight) access via key box and check in was smooth. Nice riverside walks locally, we couldn’t find the park though. Drive (or park and ride) into York and Knaresborough if you get chance. Locals friendly and dog friendly places to go. Cosy cottage with lovely comfy sofa, throw, corner chairs, log burner, and a very comfy bed too in the main bedroom. We didn’t use the second bedroom. Lots of hanging space for clothes. Games and books available if you wish. Good size tv with Virgin Media / Netflix. WiFi included (we didn’t use so can’t comment on the connection) The decor is lush and the shutters gave the place a lovely cool and airy feel. It was abit difficult to open some windows due to the shutters but that might just be me! The enclosed patio was lovely to sit out in the sun and let the dog out for a wander and sniff, surrounded by lovely bushes and flowers. Gets the sun by mid morning. Shower was lovely and a nice size, partner enjoyed the bath but I didn’t use it :) We loved the kitchen! Spacious, airy and cool. We sat in the living room though as found the bar stools uncomfortable. Fruit, bread, milk, eggs and some meat left for us on arrival - a nice touch :-) We loved the log burner and used it every night as it’s a real treat for us as we don’t have our own. Take your own logs - not sure where sells them locally as we didn’t notice any. We really appreciated the slightly later checkout making our morning less frantic - many thanks for this.

Conservatory not really usable which is a shame, and gets very hot. A revamp would transform this space and be an added bonus! More pans and baking trays to facilitate easier cooking :) Some instructions for the induction hob - we worked it out by the second morning but was tricky initially as induction newbies, at least we saw that rate smoke alarm worked haha. We couldn’t work out how to use more than one hob at once though. We ate in Tom Foolery and had a Thai takeaway - both delicious. Tip- don’t use the post office cash machine, we had an issue with it and locals mentioned it is regularly problematic. Costcutter have a cash machine.

The property was very quaint with lovely rooms and a small sunny garden. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils etc and a lovely welcome pack. It was in a lovely quiet spot but it took less than a minute to reach the main high street which was buzzing with locals breakfasting, shopping and chatting. Boston Spa had a real community feel to it. All our group said we could live there.

There was nothing not to like,

A very pleasant, very clean, well equipped little cottage located in the centre of the village with good access to restaurants and local shops. Lovely to have a parking space. Good communication from Lynn and Matthew prior to the visit and the little welcome pack was great.

The addition of a hand rail at the top of the stairs would make going up and down the stairs safer, nothing to hold on to going up/down the top steps.
