Forest Cedar Lodge, Forest of Dean

The house is bright and very clean. Set up perfectly for a small family stay. They installed baby gates on the stairs making it so easy to relax in a new environment.

There isn't anything we didn't like. Perfect staycation we will definitely book here again next time we vist the first of dean.

Very convenient location - shops 5 minute walk down the hill. Lodge was very cosy and Nadine has made it a lovely space to live in.

I have nothing negative to say.

A lovely modern place with plenty of space and everything you need for a relaxing break away. Everything you needed was available and all furnishings and equipment were of a very high quality making it a pleasure to stay. Easy walking distance to a large Tesco supermarket so good access to food shopping. Close to the Forest of Dean traffic free cycle path (Colliers Trail) with access to the Mountain biking centre, sculpture trail and 2 cafes half way round, there was also a secure covered area to store bikes behind the property (be aware if taking children there is approximately a mile of fairly steep hill back up from the trail start/finish to the property). Dog Friendly with easy access to lovely walks on footpaths and into the Forest. Friendly helpful hosts on site.

Not much not to like, if I had to be picky, I’d say for me the bed was quite firm but may suit others and although adequate off road parking is provided close to the property, you have to reverse onto a sloping driveway from a main road which took a bit of getting used to but was a secure place to leave the car. Variety of things to do and shops are limited in Cinderford town itself as they are in many smaller towns these days but it’s not far by car to lots of nice places worth Visiting such as the Sculpture trail, Symonds Yat, Ross on Wye with plenty of interesting independent shops and cafes and lovely walks in the Forest.

A beautiful find!! The lodge was spacious, comfortable and presented immaculately.. Within 10-15 minutes drive of all the lovely spots for walking in the Forest of Dean, as well as some great places to eat.. We'd booked elsewhere, but that fell through last minute and the other half has to get the credit for finding this little gem. Great communication throughout, and can't recommend highly enough. 5*****

We had a wonderful 2-night stay! The place was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The check-in process was smooth, and everything I needed was readily available. The location was convenient, quiet, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The host was responsive and made sure everything went smoothly. I would definitely stay here again—highly recommend!

I was not aware that dogs could not go upstairs in the property. It was made aware in the welcome pack but would be great to have the information clearly stated on booking.com.

We came to the Forest of Dean so that our two boys could go cycling at the nearby cycle centre. It was a perfect location to access the forest activities - only 10 minutes away from the centre, so very convenient. The lodge was very well equipped and had everything we needed to be able to cater for ourselves. Nadine was very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. We would definitely recommend the lodge and make a return visit if we come back to the forest.
