Quiet and tidy enough

Location was a wee bit out of Colonia. Payment in cash was a wee bit inconvenient but advertised in advance.

Nice place in a good location to access everything in Colonia, close to the bus and ferry stations. Good Wi-Fi, AC unit and hot water in the shower and sink. Shared kitchen and communal area for eating. Free tea and water refill. It was very quiet when we were there which was perfect for us. We booked a shared bathroom but had it to ourselves. Simple breakfast of tea/coffee, orange juice and small croissants included in the price. You have to pay more for a bigger breakfast.

Breakfast starts at 8:30am so if you need to leave before this time you won’t be able to have breakfast. It would be nice if the bigger breakfast is included in the price!

Great location, halfway between the bus terminal/ferry port and old city (walkable to both within 5 to 10 mins). Small, but clean room with comfortable bed, linens, and pillows. It was nice to have a heat and/or A/C unit in our room. Halls and bathroom were chilly because they did not have a heating unit. Hot water in tap was great. The shared bathroom was initially clean, but as more people used it, it showed normal signs of use. WiFi worked well. We had a small breakfast consisting of amazing fresh OJ, coffee, ans mini croissants included.

Marcela is an excellent communicator and a really lovely hostess. She prepared breakfast for me every morning (basic - coffee, oj, and 4 small but tasty croissants) and made sure the guesthouse was kept clean and in good working order. The beds were comfortable and my en suite room came with a small closet and shelving unit, a good place to stash my belongings for the days I was in town. Most of the rooms were just off a lovely plant-filled patio seating area and there is even rooftop with a BBQ, a view of the water and neighboring rooftops and a place to hang laundry.

The few kitchen pots and pans were well-used and in pretty poor shape. The guesthouse could benefit to replace these with newer ones.

Great location (walking to historic center in 10 minutes, and a few minutes to bus and ferry terminal, therefore great for a stopover between Montevideo and Buenos Aires). Very cozy hostel with attentive staff. Two breakfast options, the smaller for 4 USD including three medialunas, coffee, cereals and orange juice was perfect for us. Possibility to deposit the baggage between checkout and departure.

The shared shower seemed rather small but we didn't use it anyway. The window architecture allowed mosquitoes to come in even when the window was closed.
