Periyar Villa Home Stay - Thekkady

We were made to feel so welcomed by our hosts who took great care of us, providing delicious home cooked breakfast rich in fruit, and helping to organise activities during our stay including taxis and discounts on local activities. The complimentary visit to the spice garden was very interesting and there was an opportunity to purchase locally grown organic spices from the shop. The rooms were very reasonably priced, were immaculate with a good ensuite bathroom and felt opulent being very large in size and having direct access to a balcony overlooking the garden abundant in birdlife. We loved our visit to the Elephant junction which is nearby, enjoyed a guided walk and boat trip in the tiger reserve, a trip to see a stunning martial arts display and Kathakali dance demo, a jeep safari to spot wild elephants and a delicious meal at Cloud Periyar glamping site.

Nothing not to like!

This as the most spacious, well-designed room we have ever had in Asia. The fact that there was a roomy alcove for the bed was a great idea. Mention must be made of the thought that had gone into the lighting design, as we were able to read comfortably at night - very unusual.

We were really fortunate enough that we selected this Home Stay after searching at least ten such home stays. The room was larger than we expected. Complimentary Breakfast was delicious and profuse in amount. We had so many options. The credit goes to the Dignified Lady, who is instrumental in making all these happen. Her energy and her smiling face were deeply appreciated by my wife. I just want to say that if you travel to Thekkady, you can very well select this without any hesitation. We convey our best wishes to them. The visit to Spice Garden ( their property) was really great.

We felt that there should be another fan in the drawing room part of this huge room.

We had a fantastic stay with Rehna's family. REHNA is so kind and nice, (like all Indians(: ) intelligent, helped with everything, speaks very good English. The family house is large and luxorious, located in a little country road, sorrounded by beautiful trees. Very convinient, close to everything. The room has full privacy, it's spacious, clean, has a great balcony. The breakfast is excellent, and dinner also, Rehna is a great cook. The best way to travel is to stay with the Indian amazing families. We came there from a 5 stars hotel- the homestay is uncomperable!

This is my second time and it was once again the best stay in Thekkady. Host was very kind and professional. Breakfast was exquisite 😋. We went with the family and they all enjoyed the stay and the breakfast. Very spacious and quiet.

It was indeed a Home away from Home. The Host is exceptionally good. Very very comfortable stay worth the amount we pay. We stayed in Woodpecker room which had two balconies. Complimentary breakfast is very nice. Infact we were treated as one among them. We would love to come back again.. Thank you Rehana Madam..

Absolutely Nothing

The room was spacious and very clean, with comfortable mattress and pillows. The home cooked breakfast was delicious: the best breakfast we had during our trip in Kerala. The whole family was very kind, helpful and accommodating. We loved staying at Periyar Villa Home Stay! I can definitely recommend it!

This place is run by family and they are very helpful and accommodating. Most of the things are managed by the husband and wife who owns the place. Rooms are spacious and then in morning you will get the home cook breakfast. The owner also help us in getting the booking for nature trails in forest. Addition to this they have place to park your cars as well
