Benton Guesthouse, Private Nostalgic Showa-era House, former Akiya

Bellsima casa in stile tradizionale Giappone di recente ristrutturazione. Dotata di tutti i confort. Eravano solamente in 3 persone ma la casa avrebbe spazio per 8/10 persone. Abbiamo soggiornato 3 notti in questa struttura ed è stata eccellente la disponibilità della proprietaria Dani, che era sempre raggiungibile con whatapp per qualsiasi necessità. Gentilissima nel suggerirci le trattorie/locande ed Izakaya del posto. Ha pensato Dani ad effetture le prenotazioni nei locali dove la disponibilità dei tavoli era limitata. Host super consigliato

This house is good for the soul. You really must stay a few nights to let it work its magic on you. Dani and Evan are kind and responsive hosts and the town is the kind of neighbourhood where you are greeted with smiles and welcoming. I actually didn't cycle during my stay (shocking, I know!), but explored the islands with the local bus system. The slower pace and personal interactions left me with calmness and gratitude. Thank you to Dani, Evan and the local community!

A beautifully restored guesthouse on Omishima island, with a western-style bedroom, and two traditional-style tatami bedrooms. We stayed here overnight for the half-way point of our 2-day Shimanami Kaido cycling trip. Very clean and comfortable, with all essentials supplied (including toiletries -- very useful since we were only carrying backpacks while cycling, and had our main luggage shipped directly to our next stop). Dani was a very kind host, and was already very helpful before the trip with great messages and clear communication. She explained everything, and provided advice on dinner nearby (she even booked it for us), and a nearby shrine to see in the morning. Biggest regret is not staying longer! Omishima actually has its own around-the-island cycle trip with lots of sights. Next time will definitely stay longer and explore more.

We stayed here 1 night while biking the shimanami kaido. The location is less then a 15 min bike ride from the main trail and was easy to find. Dani was a great host and came out to meet us and explain various functions of the house. . Really made us feel welcome and even helped us with dinner reservations. Size-wise it was perfect for our 6 person group, there was room to spare The house itself had lots of cool things to look at and all the amenities you expect and more. I particularly liked the onsen kits which made it simple to go take a soak.

Die Unterkunft ist in einem sehr authentischen japanischen Stil gehalten. Man merkt, dass die Gastgeber viel Mühe, Energie und Leidenschaft investiert haben, um den Gästen eine unvergesslichen Aufenthalt bieten zu können. Leider sind wir nur eine Nacht geblieben.

The host was very nice and accommodating. They even booked a place to eat for us after we arrived after a long day of cycling. The futons are a bit hard but we were told we could use many as we wanted to and with 3 I slept quite well. We liked the style and there were enough rooms for us 5 people so everyone could have a little privacy.

Couldn’t have asked for a better stay along our Shimanami Kaido route! The guesthouse is incredibly spacious and clean. Everything was so thoughtfully prepared for us. When I lost my wallet along the route, Dani offered to drive to us to help me retrieve it before we had even checked in. Talk about hospitality!

Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer!

It was very unique and spacious and we liked the option to sleep on the tatami flooring. It was clear that they have put so much effort into making everything comfortable. The location was also great, and Dani and Evan were helpful in recommending and booking some local food options for us.

beautiful house, expertly renovated to keep the nostalgic feel with modern comforts. the host greeted us when we entered and when we left and was very friendly and helpful. they keep improving the facilities so chances are that by the time you visit it will be even more awesome!
