Location and the property itself

The immediate interior could be painted and made to look more welcoming. When we first entered, we were really put off by the roughness of the hallway. This is not a good first impression.

There was a lockbox which was jammed, the Calton Living customer service team left me and my family outside the property for an hour an a half. After a number of phone calls and one patronizing video on how to open a lockbox they eventually sent someone to let us in. So, when they couldn’t get the lockbox open, they had to call someone to bring a screwdriver. To Jar it open. This was the start of the shocking experience we had staying in this Property. The Heating didn’t work. We had to reset the boiler every time it got cold or if we needed hot water. Then there was the fact that the shower didn’t work & the was no plug for the bath tub. The hairdryer in one of the rooms was broken & the had plastic cutlery set for us to use. “To cheap to buy a £20 set in Tesco” which is across the road. Along with not having any sharp knives if you wanted to cut bread or to prepare a dinner. This accommodation was €1154 for 3 nights. You are earning enough money on the Flat for a weekend to afford none of these issues. The customer service that I experience was appalling. I receive no help what so ever about the heating or the shower not working. They just kept asking for videos of the complaints. Which I sent & have proof that I did. This is additional information that they haven’t put in the main description about the accommodation You had 80 steps or 5 flights of stairs to walk up to the flat. You’ll not find this information about the stairs, on the top of the page description about the accommodation. But at the bottom of it in (Property information) Now this mistake is on me, I didn’t check out all of the info on the property. But I have learned a valuable lesson of “Always read every inch of the description before booking any kind of accommodation again”

The location was nice, and the views in the apartment were lovely.

The apartment was lacking in some basic things like a dish towel for drying dishes and oven gloves as we did cook in the property and used the oven. We also had a major problem when it came to the boiler and hot water. Most of our stay, we had no hot water, which meant showering was out of the question multiple error codes on the boiler which even though the company were most of the time quick to respond with solutions did take away part of our experience of staying here

The apartment was very nice, clean and close to shops, pubs, restaurants and the old town. Very good location!

The wifi was basically non existent

Good location, access to buses and local supermarkets. Comfortable beds and quiet location. Good internet access and speed. Also there were some tea and coffee facilities.

Only minor the bathroom shower could have been slightly more powerful. Could have been a TV aerial connected to the TV.

Unfortunately we couldn't connect to the wifi so couldn't use Tv either.

At first .. I thought this place is great .. I dropped my bags and went to theatre .. came back at around 10:30pm ., no heating no hot water ., I rang the agents but they could do nothing.. it was so cold !! 7.8 degrees inside Went for a cup of coffee all cups dirty !! Then I noticed around top of walls damp marks around top of ALL the walls water ingress from the storm the night before .. if it wasn’t so late I would have left and gone to another hotel.. I rang first thing in the morning .. after no sleep and the morning chorus of nesting pigeons on roof over the bedroom .I got an apology.. I asked for my money back .. after over a week and contact from booking.com and the letting company I got £50 back .. the cleaning fee was £70 !! I feel completely let down . This is not how to regain trust in customers .. I stayed 8th of Dec and have taken this long to put the review on because I’m not that person .. but after due consideration here it is with the photos ..
