Tsuki-Akari Takayama - Japanese Traditional House with Open-air Bath

Beautiful home in an exquisite location. We are a family of four and found the home large by Japanese standards. One of the best places we stayed on our visit to Japan. The bath was also gorgeous. I had a bath while it was snowing. Highly recommended!

Comfortable accommodation with proper facilities - cooking, washing, etc. Good living spaces with the upper and lower floors. Walking distance to the morning market.

Not much of a view, other than the rock garden which was pleasant.

Beautiful apartment in a beautiful neighbourhood. Very good location, 5-8 mins walk from most of the attractions with lots of eateries nearby as well. Apartment was very clean and very well-appointed.

Beautiful house and equally beautiful and quiet neighborhood, but then very close to the old town of Takayama. What more to ask. The facilities was perfect. Had a wonderful time cooking up a storm with our butcher bought hida beef. Although we didn't use the outdoor bath due to the cold, it was a nice touch. Even though the shower area was a little chilly, they provided portable heater you can wheel around as needed. And the Balmuda kitchen equipments....

Fantastic little house. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, everything in the house was beautifully done. The outdoor bath and private little garden were a huge bonus. The location was excellent, a short walk to where we wanted to go but a very quiet area.

This apartment was fantastic, we loved our stay! The location is in quiet area, close to the river. The apartment has all amenities and nice garden with bathtub. I would highly recomend this place

It is a traditional Japanese house equipped with modern facilities. A comfortable and warm environment for relaxing and enjoying Takayama. The owner was very nice in letting us park our car at the premises before and after the stay. There was a little problem for entering the house but the owner resolved it promptly.

Loved the location right across from the stream and close to the town's perimeter walk. Had a very calm and relaxed feel with everything that we required. A real sense of Japanese culture.
