Rose Street's Hidden Treasure- 2Bed Newly Refurbished Apt

Great location 10-15 minutes walk from station. 2 good size bedrooms and lovely decor. Good size wine glasses (essential 😁) Excellent communication from hosts. Lots of shops nearby for essentials.

Liked that the larger bedroom was so well-appointed. We were able to figure out the shower (don’t set it to the hottest setting, or it will start scalding hot but run cold quite soon, but at a colder setting it stays nice and warm for the whole shower). It was helpful that a hairdryer and clothes washing machine and drying rack were provided as well as shampoo and shower gel. We liked that a French press was provided for making coffee, as well as pots and pans, and 4 coffee mugs. On a street with fun businesses, but the bedrooms were still quiet. Great location for having no car and seeing all the fun things in Edinburgh on foot!

One bedroom is too small for nightstands to be next to the bed, but both beds were comfortable. Only one set of keys, so we had to use the lockbox if both couples weren’t arriving and leaving together each day. A minimal amount of toilet tissue was provided, so staying any longer, you’d need to run to the shop. Only one ice cube tray, so adding another couple of those would be helpful for cold drinks. Also keep in mind that parking is not provided and your paid parking might be over a half mile from the flat.

YouTube video nice idea but uninformative. Pictures of open apartment door when a simple picture of closed door would have been more useful. No clear door identification in dingy hallway Table propped up with Unsightly paper - could use wooden block. No welcome tea/coffee just left overs from prior guests. Chipped mugs No microwave No mirror in bedroom, no bins In bedrooms no opportunity for bedside table to be by bed. Tables in other room sloped so cannot put stuff on them. Hole in bedspread No functioning remote control for tv Windows were filthy not just grubby WiFi codes on walls didn’t match info provided signal did not reach kitchen. Loose wires across floor in bedroom Great potential just needs some small changes.

The location was amazing! Close to major tourist attractions and Princess Street Gardens. Just over the bridge to the Old Town. Close to shops and all ammenities. Close to the tram and all major bus routes.

I thought the flat looked a bit tired.

The location is excellent, minutes from all attractions. The host was very responsive.

The apartment is opposite to a night club, open Friday and Saturday. I had the pleasure to enjoy the music and the loud noise "only" on Saturday night (until 4 am on Sunday). While the bedrooms are on the other side, this was still annoying. The bonus: there is a construction on the bedrooms' side, so during the weekdays we were gently woke up by the noise of the construction (from 7 am). To be fair, none of this is the owner's fault. But: I am travelling a lot, but never saw an apartment (for this price) to be fit with the bare minimum (e.g. very uneven floor (take care!), plastic 'tiles' in the bathroom, two toilet papers, worn walls). The apartment would certainly benefit from a fresh painting. (I do not mention the awful corridors, that might be also beyond the owner's competence...)
