"Amaca is a tranquil place allowing you to fall asleep to the wonderful sound of the waves."

10.0

Amaca Beach Resort in Quimixto was so tranquil and easy to be there and relax. The rooms are clean and very comfortable with everything we needed for our vacation. The food is delicious with great options for healthy clean eating. The coconut shrimp, large salads and fruit plates were the best! The staff are unbelievably accommodating, caring, joyful and friendly! We enjoyed everyone we met. They took great care of my older Mom and treated her like their own. She felt very cared for. The resort is right on the beach with easy swimming, snorkelling, and surf when the waves are there. There is a small pool that was just enough to cool off during the day and have a warm swim in the evenings. There is a communal kitchen that you can store food in the fridge, cook if you wish, and eat in a shaded quiet place on your own. There are a few sweet dogs that will greet you if you are open to some animal love. Water taxis are easy and can pick you up and drop you off right out in front instead of taking you to the pier/dock in town. Quimixto village is small and quaint and an easy 10 minute walk on the path or on the beach. Be sure to support the few restaurants and concenience stores the locals own there. They need your business in these difficult economic times. Casa Corazon is a new place with incredible healthy food and drinks, you will love your visit there! Try her sourdough pancakes! If you are looking for a calm and quiet vacation and falling asleep to the sound of the waves, Amaca is your place!

"Acceptable, barely."

5.0

The location is spectacular, that hasn't changed.

We have stayed in Quimixto several times before but not for a few years. As with the rest of the South Shore, it seems to have lost it's innocence. Prices have shot up to ridiculous levels and tourists are treated as an annoyance in some establishments as opposed to a necessity. I guess as long as they keep coming, which they will because of the spectacular location, this is unlikely to change. On arrival at 4p there was no one available to check us in. After we asked enough people on the beach someone (the owner followed by his employee) eventually appeared. We were directed to our room from the bottom of the stairs, as it seemed too much trouble to ascend them with us. The breakfast was terrible. Thank goodness it was included because it was delivered cold and way over priced!

"Excellent service for a simple beach stay. Very relaxing."

9.0

the staff is exceptional and provided such personal service during our stay. Selenne, the manager, went out of her way to help us. The waiters remembered our orders. We went to Amaca for rest and relaxation, knowing that it is a simple place, but the staff all worked together so well and made it a memorable stay.

Because we arrived late, the arrival by boat was a bit confusing, but we ultimately got a ride on a boat to Quixmoto with a local.

"Beautiful resort, great value for money"

10.0

Beautiful resort right on the beach in the quaint town of Quimixto. Had a great stay with family including kids. Very beautiful tropical setting, relaxed atmosphere, simple clean room and facilities, friendly staff. Lots of tropical foliage, butterflies, birds. Very nice beach, great for swimming, playing, boogie boarding, surfing, kayaking. Got to see a few whales as well in winter. Resort provided complimentary boogie boards, surf board, kayak, volleyball. The on-site restaurant was conveniently located on the beach, but we preferred for the most part the food in the town. Convenient location just a few minutes walk from Quimixto pier and other restaurants. 30 minute hike to a very nice waterfall in which you can swim. 30 minute very scenic coastal hike to Las Animas beach. Staff helped arrange boat transportation to PV, also let us keep our luggage at their other hotel in PV so we could conveniently roam around the city on the way back before heading to the airport. Spotty wifi, almost no cellular connection.

"Desconexión pero sin dejadez"

8.0
