GBThe location was excellent 👌. There were plenty of lovely walks either long or short..Coastal towns of Bridlington and Scarborough a short distance away. The accommodation had everything you needed for a pleasant stay.
There wasn't anything that myself and my husband didn't like. Thornwick Bay brought back many happy memories for my husband who stayed there as a child.
GBGBReceived a text from the owner providing key code and really clear directions re how to locate the cravan a good few days before the arrival date. Have stayed at this site before using various owners caravans and this was the best service in the lead up to arrival. The views from the caravan are breathtaking. The sea is within view, the new and old lighthouse at Flamborough are facing you out of the front window/livingroom area.. The sitting room area is the best layout I've seen/used. Plenty of cupbord space to use if needed and good sized T.V. screen. Solid dining table and chairs with 4 seats and 2 stools available. 3 really good bedrooms with heaps of wardrobe space in the main double bedroom and lots of coat hangers in each bedroom. Loved the coat hooks in the rooms. So many - great.
Ok, this is with a heavy heart... I'm gonna say it as we found it. No toilet rolls at all on arrival? The cushions on the settees had small pueces of sticky sweets on them. Went to put food in the fridge and needed to clean all the shelves having found crumbs on them. and hopefully it was dried ketchup or similar on the inside wall of the fridge. Tried to clean the rubber seal to the fridge as it too had crumbs on it in the groves and it was black and ripped. The coffee cups were dirty, so cleaned 4 of them and used them all of the time. Cheap coke a cola glasses along with "pub" glasses. All the placematts had crumbs on them. The cooker was old which in itself is not a critisism but found black old cooking spots on the top and an orange spot of grease or food on the hob area. I cleaned the hob as best I could as the individual gas rings were so rusty the "teeth" grips were rotting and the grime (sorry - no other word for this) from around the control knobs..I got the frying pans out and scrubbed one which changed the rim from an orange oily colour to chrome again. Used the microwave once after cleaning it. Don't know what the brown stain on the roof on the inside is but at least the discolouring came off. Found crumb bits on the floor at the radiator in the living/kitchen area and also part of a toothpaste box? After using the shower I went to clean the base and some of the grey and orange areas that contact the wall cleaned up a treat. The ledge you step over to get into the shower changed from grey to white. Not the best experience. Cooker, fridge and microwave perhaps should be replaced.
