Liiiving in Porto - City View Apartments

The apartment was spotlessly clean and checking in was easy, even though we landed late at night. The staff I spoke to online were friendly and quick to respond. The mattress is very firm which I quite like but it's not to everyone's taste! Fluffy white towels and crisp white bedlinen were provided. The aircon works great and there are 2 units so the apartment can be kept cool. In a good location uphill of the main town area, takes about 15 minutes to walk down and taxis are cheap and easy to get if you don't fancy the walk back up the hills! We enjoyed our stay but think there is some room for improvement with facilities.

Only two very small bars of soap were provided, despite there being a liquid handsoap dispenser in the bathroom, there was no soap in it. There was no dish to put the soap in so this was a bit messy. There's a Nespresso machine but no capsules for it so we had to buy some. We also had to buy a teatowel to dry the dishes, and liquid detergent to wash our clothes. It's great that there is a washing machine but it's quite inconvenient to have to buy a big unit of liquid detergent to wash your clothes. We have stayed in similar apartments before, and little essentials like coffee, tea, milk, sugar, oil, salt and pepper, liquid detergent and some cleaning supplies have always been provided. We had to buy all of these so we could cook and wash our clothes, and unfortunately leave a lot of it behind as we couldn't fly with it. Other than this, we did really enjoy our stay, but if these little touches were added it would make for a more relaxing holiday and better value for money!

Great location near center, but not too crowded. Good transport links. Comfortable furniture.

The windows face a busy street. Too noisy. Cleaning service is not good.

Overall it was a big pleasure to stay in this apartment very close to the city centre of Porto! The living room is very spacious, the bedroom is just what you need to rest during the night, but what is really really nice is that there are two terraces where you can be outside but still hide from the sun until 1-2 pm. In the afternoon/evening the sun is there so it is also pleasant to spend time. The apartment has all the equipment you need, the only thing missing is the dishwasher. Air conditioning working really good. Our host Marina is a really nice person, willing and ready to help, thank you for this Marina!!

The location of the apartment is really good in terms of the distance to the city centre, on the other hand there were many homeless/drunk people around (Jardim de Teofilo Braga is actually fully occupied by them). There was one issue with regard to the change of towels/sheets - we have been told that they will be changed after the half of our stay but it happened just 2 days before we were leaving, what was not fully comfortable.
