Location was great.

The kitchen and bathrooms weren't great. The kettle was unusable as it had lots of limescale/filth inside - we couldn't risk using it. The fridge and freezer were unplugged when we arrived and the plug extension used was precarious and possibly dangerous as it prevented plugs being fully inserted in the socket. The fridge didn't seem cold enough once plugged in so it was difficult to keep milk and fruit chilled. We wouldn't use the toaster either, again, it was mucky and we had no idea how old the crumbs were. The photos did not truly reflect the condition of the rooms (I took photos which I'm happy to share). It was nice that there was coffee and some tea bags however, there was no milk left for us - this would have been a pleasant addition (if the kettle had been in a usable condition).

The pace was neat and cozy.

Parking was ok but busy, little up from main centre but good if you want the opera side I think it is. Ten min walk to main attractions

House was old and yes was clean, but main bedroom bed was very noisy and many areas needed paint / fixing. Light and extractor in kids room was broken with many insects. Wasn't the vibrant city centre apartment it was much older style flat, which would be fine if they advertised it correctly. Scary door to unknown dungeon in hallway padlocked from outside lol.

The discounted parking and location was good. The cups and plates were ok

The facility needs proper maintenance and renovation. The door way was dirty, windows dusty with cob webs and sewage smelling in the room when bedroom windows are open. The rooms were so stuffy. I would expect cleaning could have been done and rooms aired before arrival of guests that day. I had a cold and cough and this didn't help my situation. For the money being charged, I expect more attention being paid to maintaining the place. Dinning room chairs almost falling apart. There weren't any proper pots for cooking either so had to get new pot from shop. I'm afraid my expections weren't met at this time. I have booked apartments through Booking.com before, last one in same town. Never expected this to be that bad as compared to the pictures advertised.

This apartment is located in a great location in very close proximity to the beach, pier and centre with parking available just a minute's walk away. The apartment itself is large and well furnished with a bright modern feel and comfy beds. On arrival the bedrooms were well presented and with complimentary toiletries and everything was clean and welcoming. I received a phone call from the host to ensure that we had checked in ok and that everything was ok and timely communication to ensure our stay was great. For the price this is a very good place to stop for a few days.

Outside areas need a little more love and attention but we didn't stay for that.

Nothing , it was uncomfortable on hygienic fence broken fridge not working properly cooker not working properly central heating poor instructions . Insects at night coming through the vent there was a smell throughout the house.. when we arrived, it definitely does not look anything like what was advertised and it was more like a budget accommodation with old furniture , on several occasions the front door was left open so didn’t feel very secure in the apartment back door did not have a proper catch lounge door did not close correctly. Beds were uncomfortable dining chairs were flimsy. TV didn’t work properly. The fridge on several occasions overnight froze my fresh fruit and veg they appeared to be in the fridge damage. Don’t expect any help from Booking.com or from the property managers I found them quite rude and unhelpful when I raise some of these their reply was that they had other properties in Southend and in another location that I might be more suited to me .

This apartment has absolutely nothing to do with the photos shown on Booking. In the pictures it looks modern, clean, and comfortable, but in reality it’s run-down, filthy, and in terrible condition. When we arrived, the apartment hadn’t been cleaned at all: the floors were dirty, the bathrooms were unclean with used plastic bottles left behind, and the kitchen towel reeked of cigarette smoke. Everything inside is old, damaged, and poorly maintained. Not a single piece of furniture is intact. The chairs are wobbly, the beds are squeaky, and the mattresses are extremely uncomfortable and completely worn out. The so-called “double bed” is actually two separate mattresses of different sizes and heights. There are no mirrors in the bathrooms, and one of the showers doesn’t work at all. There’s was no hot water most of the days. The water barely flows from the taps. The windows literally have holes in them. There used to be some kind of plastic ventilation system, but it’s broken and now there’s just an open hole, letting in cold air and insects. This made the nights freezing. The yard is also extremely messy and neglected, full of scattered junk and overgrown plants. To make things worse, we killed at least 15 moths every single day. They were everywhere, making us feel constantly uncomfortable and disgusted. Reviews from over 10 days ago already mentioned that the shower wasn’t working and there was no water. When we contacted the host to inform him, he pretended not to know. We saw those older reviews when free cancellation was no longer possible. We felt deceived and deeply uncomfortable throughout our stay.
