St John's City Centre House-Free Parking

We were already impressed before we even stepped foot inside the property. The tree-lined street is simply gorgeous: quiet and full of character, and so close to the city centre (but not too close to be bothered by noise). The house was exactly what we had hoped it would be. It’s is beautifully designed, calming and extremely well maintained. It is warm and clean and seems to be newly refurbished. The kitchen is well resourced and there is a lovely, long dining table to eat at. The bedrooms were comfortable, and quiet. Access to the attic bedroom might be tricky for some people. The stairs were very steep, but once up there you won’t be disappointed. The twin beds were very comfortable and the room itself was very spacious. The main bedroom is very big with a gorgeous ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower, and the twin bedroom was spacious and comfortable. We highly recommend a stay at St John’s City Centre House. It it is minutes from the Minster, and from fabulous coffee shops and restaurants. We will most definitely return, and soon!

Excellent location close to York Minster and city centre. Practical house. Parking outside prearranged at a cost of £10/day.

Lacking comfort/charm. Limited cooking facilities kitchen for “ready” meals not a house for anyone who likes cooking! Bathrooms practical towels/linen limited/basic. Unnecessary “late” check out charge to leave later than 10am! Unfortunately previous guest’s bin bags left outside the front of the house.

The property was spacious and convenient for our sons graduation at the Minster

It got quite cold downstairs in the evening. Upstairs was fine but we couldn’t get downstairs warm even with the doors closed. Would have been good to know how step the stairs were to the attick room.

The location, cleanliness and appearance were lovely.

There was a small insect problem in hall bathroom and the top floor stairs definitely are for young people!

The location is absolutely brilliant for sightseeing in central York, with plenty of dining options available in easy walking distance. Very pet friendly with small enclosed outdoor area

The twin bedroom at the top of the house has very steep, narrow stairs - not a problem for our kids, but could be an issue for those with mobility issues

Location was excellent, very good for the city center.
