Cosy Stable at Oak Farm

Fabulous much bigger than I thought it would be. Amazing views too.

Oak farm is a beautiful location to get away from it all, nestled in the Usk Valley with the most amazing views to embrace. We stayed in the cosy stable which was very quaint and furnished beautifully with a few items taking me back to my own childhood. Lots of little natural touches with garden flowers to greet you as well as fresh baked bread and a few staples to get your break underway. The hosts are very welcoming and make you feel at home. Alicia, is very attentive and goes to great lengths to please. Offering us courtyard figs , freshly picked plums and any surplus vegetable supplies. The main reason for our stay was to restore and we left refreshed after spending 2 wonderful days relaxing with the sheep, walking amongst the chickens and having the company of the family farm dog. Oak farm has left a warmth in my heart , not only because of the lovely accommodation and location but the genuine welcome and importance of what they do.

Nice walks around property, good area for getting to ICC. Host left delicious homemade bread for us, also milk, butter, jam and marmalade; we were made to feel welcome. Bathroom very well organised.

The kitchen/dining/lounge area was surprisingly small, though we managed. Cooking facilities tiny, so nothing ambitious should be attempted. The bed was nice and big but the mattress was a little firm for me. Wardrobe was hiding behind the bedside table!

Weather hot for our visit and with windows only on one side it was difficult to get air though the property

This was was fine for continental breakfast with homemade bread. Easy to get more food.

Sweet, cosy little place for a short stay! Loved the home made bread and jam and marmalade on arrival. Everything comfortable. Alicia was communicative and helpful. Perfectly situated for exploring USK and surrounding area.

It’s dog friendly but no private garden, so dogs have to be on lead. This was ok as we were only staying for a few nights. There are fields for off lead walking.
